FILE: CA -3085 STAFF REPORT Boyd Meier, Building Official, requests a certificate of demolition for the garage apartment located at 2215 Hazel Avenue. According to the inspection report, this structure was originally tagged on March 6, 2018. It states there is deterioration of the roof and floor joists. The structure has missing siding, rotted windows and rotted rafters. There is visible water damage and severe termite damage. The owner has signed the consent form for demolition of the garage apartment. The Building Codes Staff is recommending a raze order. Planning staff recommends approval of this request. The house is in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont Survey. SPARE states that the house was built c.1925. The house is typical of middle class housing built to accommodate the rising population in Beaumont in the 1920's. Exhibits are attached. Latrice Traylor is identified as the property owner and has been properly notified. The owner has signed a demolition request form requesting the City of demolish the structure. Attached are photos of the structure and a staff report for the Historic Landmark Commission review. We would like to request a Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish this structure. In consideration for the demolition I agree as follows: I will be responsible for raking and cleaning up of small debris left by the demolition. 2. In order for debris to be removed, 1 understand I will be required to place the materials at the curb line in accordance with City ordinances.
