WHEREAS, the City Council of The City of Beaumont deems it necessary to
open, extend, construct, locate, maintain, and widen a street to be known as
the Pearl -Orleans Crossover in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas;
and,
WHEREAS, said City Council has found that,public necessity requires the
opening; extension, construction, location, maintenance, and widening of said
street on the hereinafter described property; and,
TNTMEAS, said City Council deems it necessary to acquire the hereinafter
described interest in and to the hereinafter described property for said opening,
extension, construction, location, maintenance, and widening of said street, and
the said City Council has found and determined that the said interest in and to
the hereinafter described land is suited for such purposes and that it is neces-
sary to acquire same for said purposes; and,
WHEREAS, The City of Beaumont, through its duly authorized representa-
tives, has negotiated with the owners of the hereinafter -described land and has
been unable to agree with the owners of such property as in the fair cash value
thereof and damages, if any, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY -THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAU40NT:
THAT Kenneth Wall, City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed
to file or cause to be filed against all owners of the hereinafter -described
property, and claimants of interest therein, Proceedings in Eminent Domain to
acquire fee title, for said purpose, in and to the following described parcel
of land situated in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, to wit:
BEGINNING at the southeast corner of Lot 184
in Block 39, said BEGINNING CORNER marking the
intersection of the west right of way line of
Pearl Street and the north.right of way line
of Wall Street and for the purposes of this
description, the direction of Pearl Street is
considered to be North and South and the direc-
tion of Wall Street is considered to be East
and West, said BEGINNING CORNER being the south-
east corner of the tract of land conveyed to
Fairco Realty Company as described in Volume

THENCE South 490 25' 00" West along the south
line of said Lots 184, 185, 186 and 187 and the
north right of way line of Wall Street a distance
of 192.56 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE North 211 54' 07" East a distance of 122.37
feet to a point for corner at the beginning of a
curve to the left;
THENCE along the arc of a curve which has a central
angle of 33° 461 26", a radius of 156.13 feet, a
tangent of 47.40 feet, a chord distance of 90.71
feet, a distance of 92.03 feet to a point for cor-
ner -in the north line of the Fairco Realty Company
tract and the north line of Lot 184 and the south
line of the Jay Arr Corporation tract as described
in Volum 1721, Page 435, Deed Records, Jefferson
County, Texas;
THENCE North 491 25' 00" East along the cor=nline
between the Fairco Realty Company tract and the Jay
A.rr Corporation tract and along the north line of
Lot 184 a distance of 19.22 feet to a point for cor-
ner in the west right of way line of Pearl Street at
the northeast corner of said Lot 184;
THENCE -South 400 351 00" East along the west line
of Pearl Street and the east line of said Lot 184 a
distance of 120.0 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
Provided, however, there is excluded from said estate to be condemned
and reserved to the owners thereof all the oil, gas and sulphur beneath said
land; and provided 'further that the,riths of access, ingress and egress to and
frau the said Pearl -Orleans Crossover of the remaining premises of defendants
are not to be condemned.
