A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of September, 1975, the City of Beaumont
recovered judgment against Sylven W. Ducote d/b/a Ducote's Towne Shop, in
the sum of FOUR HUNDRED NINETY-SEVEN AND 65/100 ($497. 65) DOLLARS,
plus interest .thereon at the rate of six percent (6%) per annum from the date
thereof, together with costs of Court, said judgment being in Cause No. 32282,
The City of Beaumont and Beaumont Independent School District vs. Sylven W.
Ducote d/b/a Ducote's Towne Shop, in the -County Court at Law of Jefferson County,
Texas; and
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of November, 1975, the City of Beaumont
recovered judgment against Alvin G. Randolph d/b/a Randolph Realty Company,
in the sum of THIRTY-TWO AND 57/100 ($32. 57) DOLLARS, plus interest thereon
at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum from the date thereof, together with
costs of Court, said judgment being in Cause No. 33592, The City of Beaumont
and Beaumont Independent School District vs.- Alvin G. Randolph d/b/a Randolph
Realty Company, in the Justice Court, Precinct 1, Place 1, of Jefferson County,
Texas; and
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of April, 1968, the City of Beaumont recovered
judgment against Julian Harris and Melvin Dyes d/b/a Harris and Dyes Cleaners,
in the sum of TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-SEVEN AND 65/100 ($237.65) DOLLARS,
plus interest thereon at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum from the .date thereof,
together with costs of Court, said judgment being in Cause No. 22586, The City of
Beaumont vs. Julian Harris and Melvin Dyes d/b/a Harris and Dyes Cleaners, in
the County Court at Law of Jefferson County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, cn the 20th day of February, 1975, the City of Beaumont re-
covered judgment against Robert L. Adams, et al, in the 'sum of EIGHT THOUSAND
SIX HUNDRED SIXTY AND 10/100 ($8, 660. 10) DOLLARS, plus interest thereon at
the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum from the date thereof, together with costs
WHEREAS, on the 8th day of May, 1975, the City of Beaumont recovered
judgment against G. S. Jones d/b/a Jones Boys, Inc. , in the sum of SEVEN
HUNDRED NINETY-FOUR AND 75/100 ($794.75) DOLLARS, plus interest thereon
at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum from the date thereof, together with
costs of Court, said judgment being in Cause No, B-100900, The City of Beaumont
and Beaumont Independent School District vs. G. S. Jones d/b/a Jones Boys, Inc..,
in the 60th District Court, of Jefferson County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of September, 1975, the City of Beaumont re-
covered judgment against C. Elmer Tait, in the sum of TWENTY-TWO AND 27/100
($22, 27) DOLLARS, plus interest thereon at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum
from the date thereof, together with costs of Court, said judgment being in Cause
No. 33409, The City of Beaumont vs. C. Elmer Tait, in the Justice Court, Precinct 1,
Place 1, of Jefferson County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of September, 1975, the City of Beaumont re-
covered judgment against Mary Pousson, in the sum of ONE HUNDRED NINE AND
72/100 ($109. 72) DOLLARS, plus interest thereon at the rate of six per cent (6%)
per annum from the date thereof, together with costs of Court, said judgment being
in Cause No. 33422, The City of Beaumont vs. Mary Pousson, in the Justice Court,
Precinct 1, Place 1, of Jefferson County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of September, 1975, the City of Beaumont re-
covered judgment against Alvin G. Randolph d/b/a Elite Cleaners, in the sum of

SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY-FOUR AND 56/100 ($764.56) DOLLARS, plus interest
thereon at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum from the date thereof, together
with costs of Court, said judgment being in Cause No, 32468, The City of Beaumont
vs. Alvin G. Randolph d/b/a Elite Cleaners, in the Counry Court at Law of Jeffer-
son County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of September, 1975, the City of Beaumont re-
covered judgment against Clarence W. Woods d/b/a Woods' T. V. Sales & Service,

Interest .thereon at the rate of six per cent (6%) .per annum from the date thereof,
together with costs of Court, said judgment being in Cause No. 32475, The City
of Beaumont vs. Clarence W. .Woods d/b/a Woods' T. V. Sales & Service, in the
County Court at Law of Jefferson County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, on the 30th day of January, 1975, the City of Beaumont re-
covered judgment against Kenneth D. Hammond, et al, in the sum of FOUR
HUNDRED ELEVEN AND 03/100 ($411.03) DOLLARS, plus interest thereon at the
rate of six per cent (6%) per annum from the date thereof, together with costs of
Court, said judgment being in Cause No. D-98397, The City of Beaumont vs.
Kenneth D. Hammond, et al, in the 136th District Court of Jefferson County, Texas;
and
WHEREAS, on the 9th day of September, 1975, the City of Beaumont re-
covered judgment against Leroy Brown d/b/a_' Brown Hearing Aid Center, in the
sum of FIVE AND 55/100.($5: 55) DOLLARS, plus interest thereon at the rate of
six per cent (6%) per annum from the date -thereof, together with costs -of Court,
said judgment being in Cause No. 33.253, The City of Beaumont vs. Leroy Brown
d/b/a Brown Hearing Aid Center, in the. Justice Court, Precinct 1, Place 1, of
Jefferson County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, on the 9th day of September, 1975, the City of Beaumont re -
.covered judgment against Vaughn S. Ayers d/b/a Ayers Manufacturing Co. , in
the sum of ONE HUNDRED SIXTY-FOUR AND 52/100 ($164.5Z) DOLLARS, plus
interest thereon at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum from the date thereof,
together with costs of Court, said judgment being in Cause No. 33252, The City
of Beaumont vs. Vaughn S. Ayers d/b/a Ayers Manufacturing Co. , in the Justice
Court, Precinct 1, Place 1, of Jefferson County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the entire amount of the judgments adjudged in favor of the City
of Beaumont, together with interest and costs have been tendered and paid to the
City of Beaumont, and the City Council is of the opinion that a release of the. said

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT;
That the City Manager, be and he is hereby authorized, for and'in consideration of
the payment of said judgments, with interest and costs, to execute and deliver an
instrument to Sylven W. Ducote d/b/a Ducote's Towne Shop;.Alvin G. Randolph
d/b/a Randolph Realty Company; Julian Harris and Melvin Dyes d/b/a Harris and
Dyes Cleaners; Robert L. Adams, et al; G. S. Jones d/b/a Jones Boys, Inc. ;
C. Elmer Tait; Mary Pousson; Alvin G. Randolph d/b/a Elite Cleaners; Clarence
W. Woods d/b/a Woods' T. V; Sales & Service; Kenneth D. Hammond, et al; Leroy
Brown d/b/a Brown Hearing Aid Center and Vaughn S. Ayers d/b/a Ayers Manu-
facturing Co, , their heirs and assigns, releasing any rights and interest acquired
by the City of Beaumont by virtue of said above mentioned judgments; and the City
Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said instrument and to affix the Seal of The
City of Beaumont thereto.

WHEREAS, Dennis Bell of Jefferson County, Tees, as required by
statute, has submitted a sealed bid to purchase the property hereinafter de-
scribed that was acquired by the County of Jefferson, City of Beaumont and
Beaumont Independent School District at a tax foreclosure sale held by the
Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, by virtue of a tax judgment in cause #B-101140
styled the State of Texas vs. Nathaniel Edward Mason, et al; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with law, Dennis Bell has paid to the County
of Jefferson, City of Beaumont and Beaumont Independent School District the
sum of ONE THOUSAND AND N0/100 ($1, 000. 00) DOLLARS to purchase the
hereinafter described property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the Mayor be and, he is hereby authorized for and on .behalf of the
City of Beaumont to execute a Quitclaim Deed from the City of Beaumont to
Dennis Bell for the sum of TWO HUNDRED SIXTY-ONE AND 42/100 ($261.4Z)
DOLLARS quitclaiming all its right, title and interest in and to that certain tract
or parcel of land lying and situated in the County of Jefferson, State of Texas,
and being more particularly described as follows, to -wit:
The West ONE-HALF of Lots ONE AND TWO, Block ONE
(W. 1/2 of Lots 1 & 2, Block 1), HARRISON ADDITION to the
City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per map or
plat of said addition on file and of record in the office of the
County Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas.
BE IT FURTHER' RESOLVED that it is hereby officially found and de-
termined that the meeting at which this resolution is passed is open to the public
as required by law and -that public notice of the time, place and purpose of said
meeting was given as required by Chapter 227, Acts of the 61st Legislature,
