R E S 0 L U T 1-0 N
WHEREAS, the City Council of The City of Beaumont deems it
necessary to acquire land for the proposed Civic Center Complex,
being Citizens Acitivity Program Project No. 45-B-01, and for street
right-of-way purposes; and,
WHEREAS, said City Council has found that the public neces-
sity requires this parcel of land for such purposes on the herein-
after -described property; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to acquire the
hereinafter -described interest in and to the hereinafter -described
property and the said City Council has found and determined that the
said interest in and to the hereinafter -described property is suited
for such purposes and that it is necessary to acquire.same for said
purposes; and,
WHEREAS, The City of Beaumont has been unable to agree, and
cannot agree, with the owners of the hereinafter -described -land as.
to the value of said land; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT Kenneth Wall, City Attorney, or his designee, be and he is here-
by, authorized and directed to file or cause to be filed against all
owners of the hereinafter -described property and claimants of inte-
rest therein, Proceedings in Eminent Domain to acquire fee title in
and to the following -described parcel of land situated in Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, to wit:
Lots 6Q9, 612, 613 & 614 of Block
18 of the Original Townsite of
Beaumont, in The City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas,
for the public purpose of locating, constructing, maintaining, and
operating a City Hall, a Civic Center Complex consisting primarily
of a City Auditorium, parking facilities for said structures,,off-

and also for the purpose of constructing, locating, widening and
maintaining a street presently known as Main Street in The City of
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of The City of Beaumont this the
day of 1976.
