Home My WebLink AboutRES 76 136R'E S-0LU T I'O'N WHEREAS, the City Council of The City of Beaumont deems it necessary to acquire land for the proposed Civic Center Project, be- ing Citizens' Activities Program Project No. 45-B-01, and.for street right-of-way purposes; and, WHEREAS, said City Council has found that public necessity requires this parcel of land ;for such purposes on the hereinafter - described property; and, WHEREAS,.the City Council deems it necessary to acquire the hereinafter -described interest in and to the hereinafter -described property and the said City Council has found and determined that the said interest in and to the hereinafter -described land is suited for such purposes and that it is.necessary to acquire same for said pur- poses; and, WHEREAS, The City of Beaumont, through its duly authorized, representatives, has negotiated with the owners of the hereinafter - described land and has been unable to agree with the owners of such property as to the fair cash value thereof and damages, if any; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT Kenneth Wall, City Attorney, be and he is hereby, authorized or directed to file or cause to be filed against all owners of the here- inafter -described property and claimants of interest therein, Proceed- ings in Eminent Domain to acquire fee title in and to the following - described parcel of land situated in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, to wit: Lot 573, Block 6, Lot 579, Block 7, and all of Market Street lying between For- sythe & Cypress Streets, all in the Ori- ginal Townsite of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; for the public purpose of locating, constructing, maintaining, and operating a City Hall, a City Auditorium, parking facilities for said structures, and related municipal purposes and also for the purpose of operating, widening, constructing and maintaining a street right-of-way, in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.
