WHEREAS, bids were received for furnishing microfilm/computer
equipment for the Police Department contingent on funding from the Criminal
Justice Division, Office of the Governor; and,
WHEREAS, Bell & Howell Company submitted a bid totaling Seventeen
Thousand Two Hundred Forty -Two and No/100 ($17,242.00) Dollars for a camera
in the amount of $2,524.00, a processor in the amount of $3,692.00, an
reader/printer in the amount of $7,176.00, a jacket reader/filler in the
amount of $1,829.00 and a jacket reader printer in the amount.of $2,021.00
to be used in the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, Eastman -Kodak submitted a bid in the amount of Five
Thousand Eighty -Five and No/100 ($5,085.00) Dollars for a microfilm.duplicator
to be used in the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, Datapoint Corporation submitted a bid in the amount of
Seventy -Two Thousand Five Hundred Sixty -Six and No/100 ($72,566.00) Dollars
for a computer system to be used in the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids from Bell
& Howell Company for microfilm equipment as set out above, the bid from
Eastman -Kodak Company for a microfilm duplicator, and -the bid from.Datapoint
Corporation for .a computer system are the lowest and best bids and should be
accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Bell & Howell Company in the amount of $17,242.00, the bid
from Eastman -Kodak in the amount of $5,085.00 and the bid from Datapoint Cor-
poration in the amount of $72,566.00 be accepted by the City of Beaumont con-
tingent in receipt of a grant and funding from the Criminal Justice Division,
Office of the Governor, and the appropriate City official is hereby authorized
to make payment upon proper delivery.
