WHEREAS, on October 22, 1969, the City of Beaumont, Texas,
did file with the County Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas, certain
weed lien in the amount of $20.00, including costs of recording,
covering Lot.4, Block 9, West Oakland Addition to the City of Beau-
mont, Jefferson County, Texas, which said liens are recorded in the
M & L Records of said County in Volume 1337, Page 61; and,
WHEREAS, on August 18, 1972, the City of Beaumont, Texas,
did file with the County Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas, certain
weed lien in the amount of $32.34, including costs of recording,
covering Lot 4, Block 9, West Oakland Addition to the City of Beau-
mont, Jefferson County, Texas, which said liens are recorded in the
M & L Records of said County in -Volume 1445, Page 479; and,
WHEREAS, James Smith Estate is the owner of said above pro-
perties and desires to pay to the City of Beaumont the monies repre-
sented by said weed liens and have same released to him;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT Ken Ritter, Mayor, be and he is hereby, authorized to execute
and deliver to the said James Smith Estate a release of the above-
described weed liens for and in consideration of the sums aforemen-
tioned, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and the City Clerk
is hereby authorized to attest to same and to affix the Seal of the
City of Beaumont thereto.
