WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont needs to acquire a drainage
easement across Lots 3 and 4 of Block 6 of the Virginia Estates
Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the purchasers of said property under a contract
for deed, Mr. Kaiser Robertson and his wife, Eva, desire to sell the
entirety of Lot 3 and the South 15 feet of Lot 4 of Block 6 of said
Addition to the City of Beaumont, and desire not to retain an interest
in said tract of land burdened by an easement; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont and all owners of interest agree
that the fair market value of the subject tract of land is $3,900.00,
and the City Council believing that the purchase of said tract of land,
in fee, is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont and the citi-
zenry thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authorized to pay the sum
of $3,250.00 for the acquisition of Lot 3 and the South 15 feet of Lot
4 of Block 6 of the Virginia Estates Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, and to acquire for said consideration fee sim-
ple title in said property; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, after the said acquisition of
said property, the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
execute a release of a paving assessment lien against said property
in the amount of $650.00.
