RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND
DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION
WHEREAS, there was held in and throughout the City of
Beaumont, Texas, on the lst day of October, 1974, an election
at which there were submitted (a) to the duly qualified resi-
dent electors of said City who owned taxable property within
said City and who have duly rendered the same for taxation
and (b) to all other duly qualified resident electors of said
City, for their separate action thereupon, the following prop-
ositions: One, the issuance of $12,000,000 municipalor civic
center bonds; Two, t -he issuance of $13,940,000 street improve-
ment bonds; Three, the issuance of $500,000 traffic control
bonds; Four, the issuance of $1,000,000 Fair Park park bonds;
and Five, the issuance of $560,600 transit system garage and
office building bonds; and
WHEREAS, there were cast at each election:
(1) 12,735 votes by the duly qualified resident
electors of said City who owned taxable property within said
City and who had duly rendered the same for taxation, of which
number there were cast:

as shown in the official election returns heretofore submitted
to the City Council of said City and duly filed with the City
Clerk of said City; and
WHEREAS, said election was called and held in all respects
under and in strict conformity with the Constitution and laws
of the State of Texas and the United States of America; There-
fore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY.OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1. That the election held in and throughout the
City of Beaumont, Texas, on the 1st day of October, 1974, which
election is more particularly described.in the preamble of this
resolution, was duly called and notice thereof was given and
said election was held under and in strict conformity with law;
that both duly qualified resident electors of said City who
owned taxable property within said City and who had duly ren-
dered the same for taxation and all other duly qualified resi-
dent electors of said City voted at said election; that due
returns of said election have been made by the proper officers;
that said election has resulted favorably to the issuance of
the bonds described in the preamble to this resolution; and
that a majority of the duly qualified voters voting at said
election have voted in favor of the issuance of such bonds
and the levying of the taxes in payment thereof.
Section 2. That the City Council of said City is now
authorized to issue all of such bonds described above, and
that the City Council is authorized to do any and all things

necessary and/or convenient in connection therewith.
