HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 74 144R 'E' 'S' '0' Z' U 'T' 'I' '0' N WHEREAS, bids were received on April 9, 1974, for the furnish- ing of a one (1) year supply, beginning May 1, 1974, of 3", 611, 8" and 12" Cast Iron and/or Asbestos Cement Pipe and 12" Adaptors for the Water, Utilities Department; and, WHEREAS, Lone Star Steel Company submitted a bid in the amount of $:2.57/ft. for 6" Cast Iron Pipe, $3.57/ft. for 8" Cast Iron Pipe, and $5.97/ft. for 12" Cast Iron Pipe for the Water Utilities Department; and, WHEREAS, Western Pipe and Supply Company submitted a bid in 4 the amount of $2.13/ft. for 3" Cast Iron Pipe for the Water Utilities Department; and, WHEREAS, Mabry Foundry and Supply Company submitted a bid in the amount of $1.33/ft, for 6" Asbestos Cement Pipe, $2.03/ft, for 8" Asbestos Cement Pipe, $4.05/ft, for 12" Asbestos Cement Pipe, and $14.33/ea. for 12" Adaptors for the Water Utilities Department; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids sub- mitted by Lone Star Steel Company, Western Pipe and Supply Company, and Mabry Foundry and Supply Company are the lowest and best bids and should be accepted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the bids of Lone Star Steel Company, Western Pipe and Supply Com- pany, and Mabry Foundry and Supply Company be accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the appropriate City Official is hereby authorized to make payment for said Cast Iron and/or Asbestos Cement Pipe and Adap- tors upon acceptable delivery and/or installation.
