WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont and Cajun Concrete Works exe-
cuted a certain contract for the paving of Coolidge Street as a par-
ticipation project at a total contract price of Twenty -Three Thousand
Two Hundred Sixty -Eight and 46/100 ($233,268.46) Dollars; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont was to pay one-third (1/3) of
the said construction cost and one–third (1/3) of the engineering fee,
said engineering fee not to exceed ten per cent (100) of the construc-
tion cost; and,
WHEREAS; the property owner has previously deposited with the
City funds totaling Seventeen Thousand Sixty -Three and 54/100
($17,063.54) Dollars as its share in the participation project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City of Beaumont hereby accepts the completion of the afore-
said contract in all particulars and is further authorized the final
payment by the City of Beaumont of Two Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy -
Seven and 86/100 ($2,977.86) Dollars to the contractor, Cajun Concrete
Works and Five Hundred Two and 54/100 ($502.54) Dollars to Mr. Matt
Racki, the Consulting Engineer, and further authorizes the refund to
the property owner of the amount of Three Hundred Twenty -Four and 63/100
($324.63) Dollars, which amount is equal to the excess deposited by the
property owner over the sum necessary to pay the property owner's share
of this participation project.
