A R E S 0 L U T I 0 N
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont,
deems it necessary to locate, construct, maintain, straighten,
widen, connect and extend two streets in the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, to -wit: Madison Avenue and Corley
Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, said City Council has found that public
necessity requires the location, construction, maintenance,
straightening, widening, connection and extension of said
streets on the hereinafter described property; and,
WHEREAS, said City Council.deems it necessary to
acquire the hereinafter described interest in and to the here-
inafter described property for the said location, construction,
maintenance, straightening, widening, connection and exten-
sion of said streets, and the said City Council has found
and determined that the said interest in and to the herein-
after described property is -suitable for such purposes and
that it is necessary to acquire the said property for such
purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont, through its duly
authorized representatives, has negotiated with the owners
of the hereinafter described property and has been unable
to agree with the owners of such property as to the fair
cash value thereof and damages, if any; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That Thad Heartfield, City Attorney, and Lavon L. Jones,

and directed to file or cause to be filed against all owners
of the hereinafter described property,and claimants of interest
therein, proceedings in eminent domain to acquire fee title
for said property in and to the following described parcel of
land situated in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, to -wit:
Being a part of the west 85.0 feet of Lot 6,
Block 34 of the Arlington Addition to the
City of Beaumont as per the map or plat there-
of recorded in Volume 1, Page 70 of the Map
Records of Jefferson County, Texas, the tract
or parcel herein conveyed being more partic-
ularly described by metes and bounds as follows,
to -wit:
Beginning at an iron rod at the northwest
corner, -of said Lot 6, Block 34 of the Arlington
Addition, said point being in the existing
south line of Madison Avenue;
Thence along the existing south line of
Madison Avenue and the north line of said
Lot 6, East 85.0 feet to a point for corner;
Thence South 0.8 feet to an iron rod for
corner;
Thence tangent to a line bearing South 85°
29' West and deflecting to the left along the
arc of a curve with radius of 265.00 feet,
72.6 feet to an iron rod for corner in the
westerly line of said Lot 6 (chord of said
curve bears South 77° 38 1/4' West 72.4 feet);
Thence along the westerly line of said Lot 6,
North 41° 16' West 21.7 feet to the place of
beginning;
Containing in area 603.4 square feet more or
less.
