We, the undersigned officers of the City Council of the City,
of Beaumont, Texas, hereby certify as follows:
1. The City Council of the City of Beaumont; Texas, converted
in Special session on the 6th day of May, 1971,'at its regular
meeting place in the City Hall within said City „ and the -roll was called

RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING
RESULTS OF ELECTION
was duly introduced for the consideration of said City Council and`"'read,

adopted; and, afte_r.due discussion, said -motion, harrying with it the

WHEREAS, it is hereby affirmatively found and declared that
notice of this meeting of the City'Council of the City of Beaumont;
Texas, has been given in the manner and for the time required by
law; and
WHEREAS, there was held in and throughout the City of
Beaumont, Texas, on the 4th day of May, 1971, an election at which
there were submitted (a) to the duly qualified resident electors of
said City who owned taxable property within said City and who had
duly rendered the same for taxation and (b) to the duly qualified
resident electors of said City, for their separate action thereupon,
the propositions of issuing City bonds for the purposes hereinafter
set forth; and
WHEREAS, as to bonds payable from ad valorem taxes, there
were cast at said election:
(1) 11,299 votes by the duly qualified resident electors
of said City who owned taxable property within said City and who had
duly rendered the same for taxation, of which number.there were cast:

City Council.of said City and duly filed with the City Clerk of said
City; and
WHEREAS, said -election was.called and held in all respects
under and in strict conformity with the,Constitutions,and laws of the

Beaumont, Texas, on the 4th day of May, 1971, which election is
more particularly described in the preamble to this resolution, was
duly called and notice thereof was given and said election was held
under and in strict conformity with law; that both duly qualified
resident electors of said City who owned taxable property within
said City and who had duly rendered the same for taxation and duly
qualified resident electors of said City voted at said election; that
due returns of said election have been made by the proper officers;
that said election has resulted favorably to the issuance of the
bonds described in Propositions Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 and un-
favorably to the issuance of the bonds described in Proposition No. 7;
and that a majority of the duly qualified voters voting at said elec-
tion have voted in favor of the issuance of such bonds described in
Propositions Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 and unfavorably to the
issuance of such bonds described in Proposition No. 7.
2. That the City Council of said City is now authorized to
issue all of such favorably voted bonds described above, and that
the City Council is authorized to do any and all things necessary
and/or convenient in connection therewith.
