THE PROCEEDINGS BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TAX -MM, TO CAUSE THE PAVING OF ELUNMT
STREET FROM PARK STREET TO NECHES STREET; FOCH STREET FROM AVENUE F TO EAST

THE ALLEY BETWEEN PEARL STREET AND ORLEANS STR= T IN BLOCK- 43 BEAU I0 , T
TOWNS ITE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, it appears that the proceedings heretofore taken to affect
the 'paving of the above named 5txeets and alley and to assess a lien upon
the abhtting property owners have'been made inoperative and impracticable
as to that ?portion of Emmett Street from Park Street to Neches Street;
Foch Street from Avenue F to the east line of the Right of Way of the Texas
and New Orleans Railroad Compar; and the alley between Pearl Street and.
Orleans Street in Block 43, Bea mont Towns ite by reason of the fact that the
City of Beaumont has not sufficient funds available to pay the Uvalde Rock
Asphalt Company for the City's share of the cost of paving those portions
of the above named Streets:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAMED BY THE CITY COMIVIISSIOTT OF THE. CITY OF
BEA1110NT:
Section 1.
That those portions of an ordinance passed on November 23,.1926
assessing the cost of paving against the abutting property owners on Emmett
Street from park Street to Neches Street be and the same are hereby re-
pealdd, but this ®rdinance shall not affect the remaining portions of
Said Ordinance.
That those portions of an ordinance passed on the 23rd day of
August, 1927 assessing the cost of paving against the abutting property
owners on 4och Street from Avenue F to the East line of the Right of Way
of the Texas and New Orleans Railroad Company be and the same are hereby
repealed, but hh.is orriinance shall not affect the remaining portions of

That those portions o, -L' anordrnance passed on the 2nd day of
','arch, 1926 assessing the cost of paving against the abutting property
owners on the alley between. Pearl Street and Orleans Street in Block 439
Beaumont Townsite be and the same are hereby repealed, but this ordinance
,Shall not affect the remaining portions of said orciinace. j
Section 2.
That all resolutions and proceedings
with reference to the paving of the above named
the same are hereby repealed but this ordinance
solutions or proceedings $reacted or passed with
mentioned herein.

The fact that the repealing of the above referred proceedings is
necessary to cancel the assessment against the property,and the owners
thereof, abutting upon the above named portions of said streets, therefore,
ant imperative public necessity exists creating an emergency requiring the
suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to be read on three (3) several
days before their passage, said 'tile is hereby suspended and thin Ordinance
shall -take effect from and- afte its passage and publication.

pears that the proceedings heretofore
taken to affect the paving of the above
