That article 389 of the 4ewA of Ordinances of the City of zeaumont, prepared by Lic ;;owell and %avid son and adopted by the City Council of the City of 3eaumont on the 7th day of February, 1911, reading as follows: "Every male citizen of the "'ity o .�eau.mont over the age of twenty-one years and under sixty years of age shall be required to pay an annual poll tax of one dollar to the city of 3eaumont7 be`.and the same is hereby repealed. 2. Be it further ordained that any citizen of the .;ity of Beaumont otherwise qualified by law and holding a Otate poll tax receipt of exemption, shall be entitled to vote in any election hereafter held within the City of Beaumont without paying a poll tax to the City of Beaumont and without procuring a poll tax exemp- tion or receipt and all poll taxes heretofore levied by the City of Beaumont are hereby rescinded and remitted. 3.
