AN 0 RD INANCE
Bntitled an Ordinance apportioning a tax of thirty seven
cents ($.37) on each $100.00 valuation of all taxable property within
the limits of the Cit of Beaumont, .eexas, and a tax of seventeen
cents ($.17) on each '100.00 valuation of all taxable property within
the old city limits of the City of Beaumont, Texas on that portion
outside taken in for school purposes only, levied and ordered ool-
leoted by an Ordinance passed by the City Jommission of tha City of
Beaumont on the 27th day of October, A. D. 1925, for- the purpose of
pXVing the interest and oreating a sinking fund for the bond accounts
therein mentioned; and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF B EAWNT:
Section 1.
That the tax of thirty-seven cents ($.37) on each 9100.00
valuation of all taxable property within the City limits of the City
of Beaumont heretofore levied for interest and sinking fund accounts
other than school bond accounts, and ordered collected by an Ordinance
passed by the City Uommission ct the City of Beaumont on the 27th day
of October, A. D. 1925, be ard the same is hereby apportLoned among
the various interest and sinking funds as follows:
To the interest and sinking fund of Sewerage Bonds J7,
dated December 1, 1911 - five and three tenths mills (00.0053).
To the interest and sinki fund of Sewerage Bonds J8,
dated .April 1, 1912 - three mills 0.003).
To the interest and sinking fund of Street Improvement

Section 2.
That the tag of seventeen cents (x'.17) on each X100.00
valuation of all taxable property lying within the old city limits of the
City of Beaumont as such limits existed at the time of the adoption of
the present City Charter, and that portion taken in in 1923 for school
purposes only, heretofore levied for interest and sinking fund accounts
on school bond indebtedness for the Beaumont Jity Sohools and ordered

Section 3.
That the City Tag Assessor and Collector is herdby instructed
to pro -rate the said sums so assessed according to the provisions of
this Ordinance, and to so present his statement and -report to the Director
of Finance that said officer may be able to place all collections madd
under said tax to the credit of the prop fund and that the same may
not be diverted or used for any other purpose.
Section 4.
The fact that no apportionment has been made of the assessments
levied to provide for the interest and sinking fund for the bonded indebt-
edness of the. City of Beaumont, creates an imperative public emergency
necesatating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to be read
at three separate meetings before their passage, wherefore said rule is
suspended and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and signature of the Mayor.
