Entitled an Ordinance repealing those portions cf the
hereinafter referred to ordinances, resolutions and roceedira;:s
so far as the same affect the proceedings by the City of Beaumont
taken to cause the paving of the following mentioned Streets,
and repealing and cmacelling the assessment of liens against
abutting property owners on said Streets, to -wit;
Shamrock Street from Taron Street to Irving Street;;
I'dagnolia Avenue from v'iess Street to the Citi Limits;
Hazel Street from Forrest Street to Center Street;
Neches :street from Crockett Street to the T. &;. N.O. Ry. Oo . ;
3rma Street from Park Street to Victoria Street;
Railroad Avenue from Sabine Pass avenue to College Street;
?+Mariposa Street from Crockett to Liberty avenue:;
and declaring an emergency.
;THE=UEAS, it appears that the proceedings heretofore
taken to (.ffect the paving of the aboP-e streets and to assess
a lien upon the abutting property owners has been made inoperative
and impracticable as to the portions of the streets above named
by reason of the fact that there was insufficient funds on
rand with which to pave said portions of said streets at the
time the said contract was entered into Tiith reference to paving
the same, and it is deemed advisable by the City Commission of
the City of Beaumont to advertise for bids and re -let contracts
with reference to paving said streets, and it is necessary to
institute new proceedings for the fixing of liens against the
abutting property owners on said streets fora paving the same;

Section 1.
That those portions of an Ordinance pa-ssed on the llth
day of march, 1924 assessing the cost of paving to the abutting
property oihners on Hazel Street from Forrest Street to Center
Street; on Neches Street from Crockett Street to the T. & IT.O.
Ra.ilv�ray Corlpany; on Magnolia Avena.e from diens Street to the
City Limits, said Ordinance appearing of record in the minutes
of the City C:omr- ssion of the City of Beaumont in Vol. �� , at
pages 'L6 , be and the same is hereby r-ep ealed , but this
Ordinance shall not of ec t the remaining portions of said
Ordinance.

Etmma Street from Park Street. to Victoria Street against the
abutting property owners on said Street, and recorded in
Volume 4 pages 421 & 422 of the Minutes of the City
Commission of the City of Beaumont, be and the same is hereby
repealed.
Section 34
That that portion of an Ordinance passed by the City
Commission of the City of Beaumont on June 169 1923, assessing
the cost of paving Tdariposa Street from Crockett Street to
Liberty Avenue against the abutting property owners thereon,
recorded in Vol* 4, page 315 of the Minutes of the City 4om-
mission of the City of Beaumont, be and the same is hereby
repealed, but this Ordinance shall not. affect the: remaining
portion of said Ordinance.
Section 4.
That an Ordinance passed by the City Commission of the
City of Beaumont on July _11j- 1924 assessing- the cost of paving:
Shamrock Street from Turon Street to Irving Street against the
abutting property owners on said street, 'recorded in Vol*
page _ of the Minutes of the City Commission of the
City of Beaumont, be and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 5.
That all Resolutions and other proceedings heretofore
enacted or passed with reference to the paving of the above
mentioned streets be and the same are hereby -repealed 'fist this
Ordinance shall not affect the Resolutions or proceedings enacted
or passed with reference to any streets not mentioned. herein.
Section 6.
WHEREAS, the above mentioned portions of streets are in
facilitate the , heavy traffic over the same, and Whereas, it
is necessary to institute new proceedings for assessing the
cost of paving such streets against the abutting property oTrners
thereon, therefore an inrpera.tive public necessity exists
creating an emergency requiring the suspension of the rule
requiring ordinances to be read on three separate meetings
before their passage, and said rule is hereby suspended and
this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage
and publication.
