AMENDING SECTION 22 OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB-
SECTION B, OF SECTION 9 AND SECTIONS 16, 22 and 34 OF AN OR-
DINANCE PASSED BY THE CITY COlIMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
ON THE 4TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1820, AND AMENDED BY AN ORDINANCE
PASSED ON THE 4TH DAY OF JUNE, 1921, AND 2ND DAY OF MAY, 1922,
ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PASSAGE IN, ALONG ANIM
UPON THE STREETS AND WAYS ,OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AND REGULATING
THE USE OF SUCH STREETS AND WAYS BY PERSONS RIDING OR WALKING,
AND REGULATING- TRANSPORTATION OF' PHRSONS BY STREET CARS AND ALL
OTHER VEHICLES; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIDLATION THEREOF,
REPEALING ALL LAWS AID ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY". SO THAT S:HE SHALL READ AS HEREINAFTER

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE .
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section I.
That Section 22 of the Ordinance mentioned in the preamble
hereof shall be amended so that the same shall hereafter be and
read as follows:
-SECTION 22.-
A. It shall be unlawful fo-r any person in charge of
any vehicle, motor or otherwise, or any domestic animal, to allaW
said vehicle or animal to remain standing between the hours of
7 o'clock A.M. and 7 o'clock P.M. for a, longer period of time
than the period specified on any of the streets or portions of
streets within the City of Beaumont, to wit: Beginning at the
intersection of Pearl and Liberty Streets, thence East on Liberty
Street to the east boundary of the Federal Building property on
Liberty Street it shall be unlawful for any vehicle, motor or
otherwise, to remain standing for a longer period than ten (10)
minutes.
Be It shall be unlawful for any person in charge
of any motor vehicle or otherwise, or domestic animal to allow
said vehicle or animal to remain standing between the hours of
7 o'clock A.M. and 7 o'clock P.M. for a longer period than Thirty
(30) Minutes on the following'streets or portions of streets,
to wit:, From the intersection of Broadway and Pearl Streets,
thence South on Pearl to the intersection of Washington and
Pearl Streets. .From the intersection of Orleans and Liberty
Streets, thence south on Orleans Street to its intersection
with ersythe Street. ..
C. It shall ba unlawful. for any person in charge
of any motor vehicle or otherwise, or domestic animal, to allow
said 'vehicle or animal to remain standing between the hours of
7 o'clock A.M. and 7 o'clock P.M. for- a; longer period than one
(1) hour on the following streets or portions of streets within

D. It is specifically provided that nothing herein
controlling the period of time during which automobiles, vehicles,
or domestic animals, may remain.staanding on any of the streets
specified, shall be constured to apply to drivers of vehicles of
the Fire Department or Police Department in actual discharge of
their duties, nor to the drivers of ambulances.
E* It shall be unlawful for any person to stop -or
leave standing any automobile or vehicle in front of, or within
less than seven and one-half (72) feet on either side of any
fire hydrant in the City.
F, It shall be unlawful to park any automobile,
vehicle or animal directly in front of any drug store in the City
from 7 o'clock A.M. to 11 o'clock P.M. for more than thirty minutes
at any one time.
Section II.
This ordinance shall take effect and be and remain in
effect after thethird reading.
