BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS,_ FRONTING OR ABUTTING ON
Cable Avenue between the north line of
Gladys Avenue and the 'south -line of Isla Avenue;
TWO-THIRDS OF THE COST OF PAVING, GUTTER AND INCIDENTAL DRAINAGE,
AND -ALL THE COST OF CURBING SAID STREET APPORTIONABLE TO SAID
PROPERTY, AND DECLARING SAID TAX "A. LIEN UPON SAID PROPERTY, AND A.
PERSONAL DEBT- UPON THE OWNER THEREOF, AND.PROVIDING A TIME WHEN
SAID TAX SHALL" BECOME DUE .AND PAYABLE, PROVIDING FOR THE COLLEC-
TION OF SAME, AND ALL COSTS INCURRED IN COLLECTING SAME IF NOT
PAID AT THE TIME -'IT BECOMES DUE AND PAYABLE, AND PROVIDING THE
RATE OF INTEREST SAID TAX.SHALL BEAR FROM THE TIME -I^1 BECOMES DUE

WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirements of Sub -division
1-m of Section 68 of the -Charter of the City of -Beaumont'. the City
Commission of the City of Beaumont caused.to be published for the
time and in the manner required therefor by the City- Charter, a
notice -of the resolution of said Commission, passed on the 20th
day_ of December, 1932, of a hearing to be given to the -owners and
or persons having any interest in the property therein described,,
and calling- upon all persons - interested in s aid matter- to apps ar
and show cause, in conformity with the, provisions- of the Charter
above referred.to, why there-assessment.in said notice should not
be ,made against said property and against the owner or owners there-
of., which hearing was to be held "in the City Hall of the City of
Beaumont at ten (10) o1clock A. M. on the 10th day of January, A. D.
1933; and.,
WHEREAS, a full and fair hearing in conformity with the
Charter and law in such cases having been had in conformity with -
said notice, and the Cornmission-having inquired into and determined
all facts necessary to the adjudication.of all -special benefits -
accruing to said property and to the owner or owners" thereof by
means of .the improvement of said -Cable Avenue, and said hearing hav-
ing been duly closed, and it appearing that the re -assessment as
proposed in the above mentioned resolution, passed on the"20th day
of December, 1932, is, in all respects, fair- and equitable.,; and
that "there will be "a full and adequate and special benefit to said
abutting property and the owner thereof from and by reason of the
improvement of said street in excess of the amount assessed against
said property and the owner_ thereof:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That there is hereby re -assessed against the ower of
two-thirds of the cost. of paving, -gutter- and incidental drainage of
said -street, exclusive of the whole cost between the curb lines of
improving said --street at -its intersection with other streets -and
alleys, and..all the cost of curbing said street, apportionable to the
above described property. -
The property-upon,which said tax is levied and assessed,.
together with the number of front feet of such property, the name of
the owner thereof and the proportionate amount of the 'cost of said
paving and gutter and the cost of said curbing to be borne and paid
for by such owner as -shown by the statement prepared by the City
Engineer of the City of Beaumont, which said amount is -hereby levied
and re -assessed as a tax -upon said property as hereby shown, to -wit:

Section 2.
That said amounts so levied and re -assessed shall become
due and payable thirty (30) days after the final passage -_6f this
ordinance, and the amount of the tax hereby levied and re -assessed,
together with the cost - of collecting and interest, at 7% -per annum
from the date same is due, until paid, is hereby declared to be a
lien against the above described -property superior to all other liens,
claims or titles, except city, county and state taxes, and constitute
a personal charge or claim against the owner of said -property.
Section 3.
—.,.The fact that there are many re -assessments to be made on
property abutting-as_treets already improved; which necessitates speedy
action on the part of the -City Commi-ssion, in order -t-o facilitate -the -
dispatch of the usual dail r 'tion of the departments affectedthere-
by, and in the dispatch of the busine of the City Commission, creates
an -emergency necess'ating the suspension o. he rule requiring ordi-

Entitled an ordinance levying and as-
sessing asa tax upon the north twenty-
'� four (24) feet of, lot number twenty (20),
'block number one (1) of the Farnsworth
addition .tothe city of Beaumont, Jef-
ferson county, Texas, fronting or abut-
ting on Cable avenue between the north
line 'of Gladys avenue and the south line
of Isla avenue; two-thirds of the cost of
paving, gutter . and incidentaj drainage,
and all the cost of curbing said street
apportionable, to said property, and de-
claring said tax a lien upon saidproper-
tg and a personal debt upon the owner
thereof, and 'providing a time when said
-tax shall become due - and payable,; pro-
viding for the collection of same, and all
costs incurred in collecting same if not
paid at the time it becomes due and pay-
able, and providing the rate of interest

tion to the city 'of Beaumont, Jefferson
county, Texas_ abutting on Cable avenue
between the north line of. Gladys avenue
and the south line of Isla avenue, as a
k tax, two-thirds of the cost of paving,
gutter and incidental drainage of said

tween the curb lines of improving said
street at its intersection with other
' streets and alleys, and all the cost of
curbing said street apportionable to the
above described property.
The property upon which .said tax Is
levied .and assessed, together with the
number of front feet of such property,
the name of the owner thereof and the
proportionate amount of the cost of said
paving and gutter and. the cost of said
curbing to be borne and paid for by such
owner as shown by the statement pre-
pared by the city engineer of the city
of Beaumont, which said amount is here-
by levied and re -assessed as a tax upon
:said, property as hereby shown, to -wit:

lineal, feet, 24; curb cost, $10.08; total
amount, $83.38. Section 2. That said

and the amount -of the tax hereby levied
and re -assessed, together with the cost
of collectings and, interest at 7 per cent
