OF DEFICIENCY WARRANTS, DESCRIBED IN SAID ORDINANCE, FOR THE PUR-
POSE OF DEFRAYING THE CURRENT EXPENSES FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND
OPE.UE TION OF THE GENERAL DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNMENT MENTIONED IN
SAID ORDINANCE; FOR TTZ PAYMENT AND DISCHARGE OF SAID WARRANTS;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City of :Beaumont, penaing the collection
of the current tax revenues, from all sources, being 6axes for
the year 1929, is without Punas wherewith to pay its current
obligations incurring and to be incurred for the operation of
the General Department of the government, aryl in order to acquire
funds wnerewi-i;n to defray the current expenses of the general
department or the government pending 6he collection o: said
revenues, it is necessary that the City of Beaumon4 borrow money
upon the faith ana credit of said City, ana to anticipate ana
pledge an equal portion of the current tax revenues of the laity
for the year 1929.
BE I'T ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That E. W. Gross, Mayor or the City of Beaumont, be aru
he is hereby authorized to forthwith prepare, or have prepared,
and to execute, togetner with the City Clerk, ana to be counter-
signed by the Oity Manager, legal and binding obligations of the
City of Beaumont, in the form of ana evidenced by Deficiency
Warrants dated on the aate or dates when negotiated, ana delivered
from time to time as liereinaf6er provided, payaole to "BEARER" on
demanu, nearing not more than o% interest from their date until
paid, which said warrants shall be ana are hereby secured by the
lega.L ana winding pledges ana hypothecation of ONE HUNDRED THIRTEEN
THOUSAND (1139000.00) DOLLARS of the current tax revenues of the
City oz Beaumont for the year 1929; as applied to the General r`um,
the said Deficiency Warrants to be paid and retired out of -che
first tax revenues collected zor the year 1929 for the oper•a6ion o%
and application to the General Departmen:L of the City Government
as hereinafter set forth.
The said warrants shall be executed, neCotiated anu
delivered as when it is requisite ana necessary to raise money

payment of existing obligations and for
defraying the current expenses for the
operation of the general department of
the government, until such time as there
shall have been collected sufficient
moneys from the source above mentioned
wherewith to pay off, discharge and re-
tire such warrants, together with ac-
crued interest therein. And there is here
and now appropriated and set aside out
of the first moneys so to be collected, a
sufficient sum wherewith to pay off and
discharge all of such deficiency warrants
as may be so issued and negotiated to
the then. owners and holders thereof; pro-
vided, however, the total amount of such
warrants of this issue shall not exceed
thy sum of fifty thousand ($50,000.00)
dollars. The said deficiency warrants
shall be in the following form, to wit:
