AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TE,'aS, RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING THE WORK OF IM-
PROVING THE FOLLOW ING NAMED STREETS: REDWOOD
DRIVE, FROM THE CENTER LINE OF BLOCK 12 TO THE
CENTER LINE OF BLOCK 7; MINGLE1.700D DRIVE, FROM
THE CENTER LINE OF BLOCK 12 TO THE CENTER LIN
OF BLOCK 7; VdILLO-WOOD DRIVE, FROM THE CENTER
LINE OF BLOCK 13 TO NORTH WILLOWOOD LANE;
TIMBERV!lOOD LANE, FROM REDWOOD DRIVE TO WILLO-
VITOOD DRIVE; AND NORTH VIILLOWOOD LANE, FROM RED-
WOOD DRIVE TO WILLOWOOD DRIVE, ALL IN THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEADI1IONT :-
SECTION 1
That the work of improving the following described
streets in the City of Beaumont, Texas, to -wit:
REDWOOD DRIVE, from the center line of Block
12 to the center line of Block 7;
MINGLIE100D DRIVE, :from the center line.. of
Block 12 to the center line of Block 7;
IffILLOWOOD DRIVE, from the center line of
Block 13 to North Willowood Lane;
TFMBERWOOD LANE, from Redwood Drive to Willo-
wood Drive; and
NORTH Si1ILLOVITOOD LANE, from Redwood Drive to
V:lillowood Drive,
by raising, grading, filling, widening, paving, repaving or repairing
same and by constructing such drainage lines and facilities and other
incidentals and appurtenances thereto as deemed necessary and adequate
by the City Engineer, and as provided for in the Plans and Specifica-
tions therefor, said work being more particularly described as the
construction on Minglewood Drive of Six (611) Inches of Reinforced
Portland Cement Concrete Pavement together with integral curb and
gutter, thirty-four (341) feet wide; and Redwood Drive and VTillowood
Drive of five (5t1) inches of Reinforced Portland Cement Concrete Pave-
ment together with integral curb and gutter, thirty-one (311) feet
wide; and on Timberwood Lane and North Vlillowood Lane of five. (511)
inches of Reinforced Portland Cement Concrete Pavement together with
integral curb and gutter, twenty-four (241) feet wide; and, on all
of the above streets, drainage lines and facilities, including storm
sewers, and other appurtenances to such work, all as provided for in
said Plans and Specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer,
and heretofore approved and adopted by said City Council, all of said
improvements being as provided for and described in said Plans and
Specifications, and all of same having been performed and completed

in full accordance with all the terms and provisions of the Contract
dated February 22, 1949, between said City of Beaumont, Texas, and
Trotti & Thomson, Inc., and said.Plans and Specifications therein
contained; and said City Engineer having measured, examined and caus-
ed to be tested the finished improvements by. the means and in the.
manner provided by the terms of said Contract and the Plans and
Specifications therein contained and said City Engineer having found
that such improvements have been constructed and completed in full
compliance with all provisions of said Contract and said Plans and
Specifications, and said City Engineer -having approved and accepted
said work and improvements and having heretofore issued his Certificate
of Final Acceptance, and so certified to said City Council and recom-
mending that said City Council accept and receive said work and the
improvements as constructed and completed by said Trotti & Thomson,
Inc., and said work and improvements having been examined and found
by the Mayor and the City Council of the said City of Beaumont, Texas,
to have been performed and completed in full compliance with said
Contract and said 'Plans and Specifications therefor, said work and
improvements are hereby found by said City Council to have been per-
formed and completed by said Trotti 8: Thomson, Inc., in full compli-
ance with the terms and provisions of said Contract; and said Plans
and Specifications therefor and same are hereby accepted and received
by said City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas6-,

Gentlemen:
In accordance with the proceedings heretofore had by
your Honorable Body pertaining to the improvement of the following
streets: Redwood Drive, from the center line of Block 12 to the
center line of Block 7; Minglewood Drive, from the center line of
Block 12 to the center line of Block 7; Willowood Drive, from the
center line of Block 13 tb North Willowood Lane; Timberwood Lane,
from Redwood Drive to Willowood Drive; and North Willowood Lane,
from Redwood Drive to Willowood Drive, I wish to inform you that
the Contractor, Trotti & Thomson, Inc., has performed and completed
all of the work of improving the aforesaid streets in accordance
with the Plans, Specifications and the Contract therefor dated
February 22, 1949, said work being more particularly described as
the construction on Minglewood Drive of Six (6T1) inches of Re-
inforced Portland Cement concrete pavement together with integral
curb and gutter, Thirty-four (34') feet wide; on Redwood Drive
and Willowood Drive of Five (5") inches of Reinforced Portland
Cement concrete pavement together with integral curb and gutter,
Thirty-one (31') feet wide • and on Timberwood Lane and North
Willowood Lane of Five (5"j 'inches of Reinforced Portland Cement
concrete pavement together with integral curb and gutter, Twenty-
four (241) feet wide; and, on all of the above streets, drainage
lines and facilities, including storm sewers, and other appurte-
nances to such work.
I have examined the work done as per that certain. Contract
of February 22, 1949, and find that the Contractor, Trotti & Thomson)
Inc., has completed the work in a proper and highly satisfactory
manner, and in full accordance with the Plans, Specifications and
the Contract herein referred to.
Therefore, I recommend that the City Council accept and
receive the aforementioned work.
