ZELIDA FRELOW TO PUR- CHASE CERTAIN PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICERS TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER QUITCLAIM DEED TO PURCHASER OF SAME. PREAMBLE WHEREAS, on the 21st.day of March, A.D., 1940, the City of Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against Mrs. Zelida Frelow and A. J. Coburn, together with the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the following described property, to -twit; Lot 1, in Block 1, of the Driving Park Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per map or plat of said addition of record in the office of the County Clerk, Jefferson County, Texas; and, WHEREAS, on the lst day of August, A.D., 1914, the City of Beaumont purchased said above described property at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and, WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of August, A.D., 191.x.4, W. W. Richard- son, Sheriff of Jefferson County,-'exas, made, executed, and deliver- ed unto the City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above described property in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed was recorded in Vol. 562, page 43, on the 22nd day of November, A.D., 1944; and, WHEREAS, on the 31st day of December, A.D., 1948, Mrs. Zelida Frelow offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above described property for the sum of Nine Hundred, Eighty-five and 79/100 ($985.79) Dollars; and, WHEREAS, the said Mrs. Zelida Frelow paid to the City of Beaumont the sum of Nine Hundred Eighty-five and 79/100 (t985.79) Dollars in connection with said offer to purchase the above described property; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such sale is for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be consummated; NOW, therefore, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Beaumont that the aforesaid offer to purchase the above described property is hereby accepted and the Mayor and. -City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Beaumont a quitclaim deed conveying unto Mrs. Zelida Frelow all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above described property derived by reason of said Sheriff's deed.
