AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS, RECEIVING AND ACCEPT-
ING THE 1riORK OF IMPROVING ZAVALLA DRIVE,
FROM THE WEST LINE OF HIGHLAND AVENUE TO
THE EAST LINE OF KENNETH AVENUE IN THE
HIGHLAND PLACE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
BT IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
SECTION 1:
That the work of improving the following
described street in the City of Beaumont, Texas, to -wit:
ZAVALLA DRIVE, from the West
line of Highland Avenue to
the East line of Kenneth
Avenue in the Highland Place
Addition
by raising, grading, filling, widening, paving or repairing
same by the construction or reconstruction of a flexible
base pavement of processed gravel with a hot mix concrete
wearing surface and an inverted concrete curb, and by the
construction of such storm sewers and drainage facilities
and other necessary incidentals and appurtenances, all of
the type and width as provided for in the Plans and
Specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer,
and heretofore adopted by the City Council, all of said
improvements being as provided for and described in said
Plans and Specifications, and all of same having been
performed and completed in full accordance with all the
terms and provisions of the Contract dated July 30, 19.81
between said City of Beaumont, Texas and-Trotti & Thomson,
Inc., and said Plans and Specifications therein contained;
and said City Engineer having measured, examined and caused
to be tested the finished improvements by the means and in
the manner provided by the terms of said Contract and the
Plans and Specifications therein contained, and said City
Engineer having found that such improvements have been
constructed and completed in full compliance with all
provisions of said Contract and said Plans and Specifications,
and said City Engineer having approved and accepted said work
and improvements and having heretofore issued his certificate
of final acceptance, and so certified to said City Council
and recommending that said City Council accept and receive

said work and the improvements as constructed and
completed by said Trotti &. Thomson, Inc., and said work
and improvements having been examined and found by the
Mayor and the City Council of said City of Beaumont,
Texas, to have been performed and completed in full con®
pliance with the terms and provisions of said Contract
and. said Plans and Specifications therefor, the. same are
hereby accepted and received by said City Council of the
City of Beaumont, Texas.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, this the 2nd day
of November, 1948.

Gentlemen:
In accordance i=rith the proceedings heretofore had by your
Honorable Body pertaining to the improvement of Zavalla Drive
from the west line of Highland Avenue to the east line of Kenneth
in the Highland Place Addition, I wish to inform you that the con-
tractor, Trotti & Thomson, Inct,, has performed and completed all
the work, in improving said street in full accordance with plans,
specifications and the contract therefor dated July 30, 1948, said
work being more particularly described as the construction thereupon
of a 6 inch compacted gravel base with 1 1/2 inch asphaltic con-
crete surface with concrete curbing, drainage lines and facilities
and other appurtenancesto such work.
I have examined the work done as per that certain contract
Of July 30, 19.8, and find that the contractor, Trotti & Thomson,
Inc., has completed the work in a proper and highly satisfactory
manner and in.ful1 accordance with the plans, specifications and
the contract referred to herein.
Therefore, I recommend that the City Council accept and
receive this work.
