AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION
OF PECAN STREET LYING BETWEEN BLOCK 4 OF THE PRA-
TER ADDITION AND THE 0.148-ACRE ALFARO TRACT IN
THE A. WILLIAMS SURVEY, IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, MORE FULLY DESCRIBED
HEREIN.
WHEREAS, a petition has been presented to the City Council
of The City of Beaumont by the owners of all of the property abut-
ting the following described property, to wit. -
BEGINNING at a 121 iron rod which marks the inter-
section of the west line of Pecan Street and the
south line of the relocated S.& E.T. RR, Southern
Pacific, in the A. Williams Survey, just south of
Dollinger Road,.Beaumont, Texas, said relocated
right of way being described in deed recorded in
Volume 778, Page 138, from C. Alfaro to City of
Beaumont, said beginning corner also -being the
northeast corner of the Alfaro Tract south of the
relocated railroad;
THENCE south l degree 54 minutes east along the
east line of Pecan Street a distance of 91.74 feet
to a point for corner at the southeast corner of
the Alfaro tract in the northeast line of the aban-
doned S.& E.T. RR right of way;
THENCE south 41 degrees 13 minutes east along the
northeast line of the abandoned railroad right of
way a distance of 94.69 feet to point for corner
in the east line of the said Pecan Street;
THENCE north l degree 54 minutes west along the
east line of Pecan Street a distance of 125.35
feet to a point for corner in the south line of
Dollinger Road before it was relocated;
THENCE north 73 degrees 58 minutes east along the
south line of said Dollinger Road a distance of
11.12 feet to an iron rod -for corner in the south-
west line of the relocated railroad right of way;
THENCE in a northwesterly direction along the are
of a curve along the railroad right of way a dis-
tance of 80.16 feet to the place of beginning, con-
taining in area 0.156 of an acre of land, more or
less, said railroad right-of-way curve having a
degree of curvature of 3 degrees and zero minutes;
requesting that said portion of Pecan Street be vacated and aban-
doned; and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been referred to the Planning
and Zoning Commission -of The City of Beaumont for examination and
approval, and the same has been approved by said Commission; and,
MHEREAS it appears to the City Council that it is to the
best interest of The City of Beaumont and benefit to the public
that the above described portion of Pecan Street be vacated and
abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the portion of Pecan Street above described be, and the same
is hereby, authorized to be vacated and abandoned, and that title
to said vacated and abandoned portion of Pecan Street shall revert
to and become the property of the parties entitled thereto, as
provided by law. p
