ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PROPER OFFICIALS
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO EXECUTE A QUITCLAIM DEED
FOR AND ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY, CONVEYING TO WALTER H.
ELMS, MRS. A. M. EUGENE AND JOHN D. McCALL, EXECUTORS
OF THE ESTATE OF E. H. B.ORDEN, DECEASED, ALL OF ITS
RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST IN AND TO THE NORTH 46 BY 70
FEET OF LOT TWO, BLOCK FOURTEEN OF THE CHAISON ADDI-
TION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS,
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of The City of
Beaumont that certain objections have been raised in connection mith
title to the following described property:
The north 46x7o feet of Lot Two (2) in Block Four-
teen (14) of the Chaison Addition to the City of
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, and being more
particularly described.as follows:
Beginning at the N. W. corner of Lot No. 2 in Block
14 of the Chaison Addition, in the South line of
Gladys Street;
Thence East along the South line of Gladys Street 46
feet for corner;
Thence South 70 feet for corner;
Thence West 46 feet for corner in the west line of
said Lot No. 2;
Thence North along the west line of Lot No. 2, 70 feet
to the place of beginning, being a tract of land front-
ing 46 feet on Gladys Street and running back south 70
feet;
due to the fact that the City acquired an interest in said property
by tax deed, dated September 29, 1939, from W. W. Richardson., Sheriff
of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered to The City
of Beaumont, to the above described property, in satisfaction of a
tax judgment and tax li-en, which deed was recorded in Volume 454,
page 272, Deed Records of Jeffers -on County, Texas, on the 15th day of
March, A. D. 1940; and,
WHEREAS, the present owners of said property, Walter H. Elms,
Mrs. A. D. Eugene and John. D. McCall, Executors of the Estate of E. H.
Borden, deceased, are desirous of securing a quitclaim deed from The
City of Beaumont in so far as said judgment and sale thereunder affect
the above described property; and,

WHEREAS, all taxes due and owing to The City of Beaumont on
said property have been paid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BRIT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF,BEAUMONT,
TEXAS:
That C. H. LeBlanc, Mayor,.be, and he is hereby, authorized to exe-
cute for and on -behalf of The City of Beaumont a,quitclaim deed con-
veying to Walter H. Elms., Mrs. A. M. Eugene and John D. McCall, Exe-
tutors of the Estate of E. H. Borden, deceased, all of the City?s
right, title and interest in and to the above described property; and
the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said instrument and
to affix the seal of The City of Beaumont thereto.
