PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN ADDITIONAL
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, WHICH SAID ADDI-
TIONAL TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO THE PRESENT BOUN-
DARY LIMITS OF THE.CITY OF BEAUMONT IN THE PARTICU-
LARS STATED IN SAID ORDINANCE; AND RESCINDING AND
NULLIFYING THE ACTION TAKEN BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON
OCTOBER 27, 1959 ON ANORDINANCE-ANNEXINGPART OF THE
TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
I.
That the following described strip of land and territory ly-
ing adjacent to the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby, added
and annexed to the City of Beaumont, and that the said territory here-
inafter described shall hereafter be included within the limits of the
City of Beaumont, and the present boundary limits of said City at the
,,- points e'ontiguous to the area hereinafter described are altered and
amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the
City' -of Beaumont:
Beginning at the southeast corner of the Samuel Stivers
% League, said point being on the present City Limits Line
of the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas;
Thence east along the south line of the said Samuel
Stivers League produced to a point in longiture 94'061
0011 west;
Thence south along said -Longitude 94' 06, 0011 west to
a point in latitude 29' 59? 0011 north;
Thence east along said latitude 29' 591 00" north to a
point on the east side of West Port Arthur -Road;
Thence in a northerly direction down east side of West
Port Arthur Road to a point parallel to the south prop-
erty line of the Stanolind Oil & Gas Co. property;
Thence in an easterly direction, parallel and adjacent
to the south boundary line of the Stanolind Oil & Gas
Co. property east side of Highway 69;
Thence adjacent to and down the east side to Highway 69
to a point where Highway 69 and Highway 347 intersect;
Thence along the east line of Highway 347 to a point
parallel to the north property line of the Central
Freight Lines, Inc.;
Thence east to the west bank of the Neches River;

the Neches River to DuPont Chemical Co. north property

point lying ten (10) feet perpendicularly south of the

Thence east along a line parallel with and ten (10) feet

said east line of said Highway 347;
Thence in a northwesterly.direction along a line par-
allel with and ten (10) feet distant from the said
east line of Highway 347 to a point lying ten (10) feet
west of the east line of said Highway 69;
Thence in a southeasterly direction along a line par-
allel with and ten (10) feet distant from the said
east line of Highway 69 to a point lying ten (10) feet
north of the south boundary line of the Stanolind Oil
& Gas Co. property;
Thence in a westerly direction along a line parallel
with and ten (10) feet distant from the south property
line of the Stanolind Oil & Gas Co. property to a point
lying ten (10) feet west of the east side of the West
Port Arthur Road;
Thence in a southerly direction along a line parallel
with and ten (10) feet distant from the said east side
of the West Port.Arthur Road to a point lying ten (10)
feet north of latitude 29' 59t OOtt north;
Thence west along a line parallel with and ten (10)'
feet distant from said latitude 29' 59t OOtt north to
a point lying ten (10) feet east of longitude 94' 06,

II.
That the above described additional territory and area so
annexed shall be a part of the City of Beaumont, and the property so
added therein shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied__by
the City of Beaumont, and'the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled
to all the rights and privileges of all citizens and shall be bound
by the acts, ordinances, resolutions, and regulations of the City of
Beaumont.
III.
That this ordinance rescinds and nullifies the action taken
by the City Council of the City of Beaumont on October 27, 1959, in
reading for the first time and ordering published an ordinance annex-
ing to the City of Beaumont a part of the territory herein described.
IV.
That the Annexation Ordinance passed by the City Council of
the City of Beaumont the 17th day of December, 1957, shall not be
repealed but amended only by adding the above described strip of land
to the boundary limits of the City of Beaumont; and in the event this
ordinance is held invalid ;Aby a proper court of record, then and in
that event the boundary limits of the City of Beaumont shall remain
the same as established by the ordinance of December 17, 1957.

provided in Article I, Section 4 of the Charter of the City of Beau-
mont.
