AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN ADDITIONAL
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, WHICH SAID ADDI-
TIONAL TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO THE PRESENT BOUNDARY
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT IN THE PARTICULARS
STATED IN SAID ORDINANCE; AND RESCINDING AND NULLIFY-
ING THE ACTION TAKEN BY THE CITY COUNCIL EARLIER ON
THIS, THE 4TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1959,.ON AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING PART OF THE TERRITORY HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
I.
That the additional following described land and territory
lying adjacent to TheCity of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby,
added and annexed to The City of Beaumont, and that the said territory
hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary
limits of The City of Beaumont, and the present boundary limits of
said City, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter
described, are altered and amended so as to include said area ",within
the corporate limits of The City of Beaumont:
Beginning at the southeast corner of the Samuel Stivers
League in Jefferson County, Texas, said point being on
the present City Limits Line of The City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas;,
Thence west along the south line of the Samuel Stivers
League to the southwest corner of said Samuel Stivers
League;
Thence north along the west line of the Samuel Stivers
League to the northwest corner of said Samuel Stivers
League, said point being on the south lines of the
Charles Williams League and the A. Savery League and,
also being in Walden Road;
Thence west along the Walden Road on the south line of
the A. Savery League to its intersection with the east
line of the Tyrrell lateral, said point being on the
west line of Lot 5, Block 17, Wescalder Fig Acres Sub-
division produced southward;
Thence along the easterly line of said Tyrrell lateral
and continuing along the Port Arthur. -Canal in a northerly
and northwesterly direction to the intersection of said
canal with the south line of the present Missouri Pacific
Railroad right of way;
Thence in a westerly direction along the south line of
said present Missouri Pacific Railroad right of way to
a point in said south line which lies two thousand six
hundred forty (2640) feet west of the west line of the
Keith Road, if extended southward;

Thence north along a line parallel to and two thou-
sand six hundred forty (2640) feet from the west line
of the Keith Road right of way to the centerline of the
old Beaumont -Sour Lake.Rdad;
Thence east along the center of the old Beaumont -Sour
Lake Road to a point one thousand one hundred forty-four
(1144) feet west of the west side of the Amelia -Rosedale
Road (Farm to Market Road No. 364);
Thence north along a line parallel to and one thousand
one hundred forty-four (1144) feet from the west line
of the Amelia -Rosedale Road (Farm to Market Road No. 364)
to a point two thousand six hundred seven (2607) feet
from the north line of the old Beaumont -Sour Lake Road;
Thence east along a line parallel to and two thousand
six hundred seven (2607) feet from the north line of the
old Beaumont -Sour Lake Road to-.a.point which is four
hundred (400) feet from -the west line of the Amelia -
Rosedale Road (Farm to Market Road No. 364);_
Thence north along a line parallel to and four hundred
(400) feet from the west line of the Amelia -Rosedale
Road (Farm to Market Road No. 364) to-the.:center of the
Dishman Road;
Thence east along the center of the Dishman Road to the
center of the Amelia -Rosedale Road (Farm to Market Road
No. 364);
Thence north along the center of the Amelia -Rosedale
Road (Farm to Market Road No. 364) to thee. -,northeast
corner of the A. Houston League and the northwest cor-
ner of the Hezekiah Williams League, said point also
being the southeast corner of the Daniel: -:Easley League;
Thence west along the dividing line between the;A. Hous-
ton League and the Daniel Easley League to the southwest
corner of the Daniel Easley League;
Thence north along the west line of the Daniel Easley
League to its intersection with the centerline of Pine
Island Bayou;
Thence down the centerline of Pine Island Bayou with its
meanderings in a generally easterly -.direction to its
intersection with latitude 30' 101 00"north;
Thence east along the said latitude 30° 101 0011 north to
a point in longitude 94' 04? 0011 west;
Thence south along said longitude 94' 041 0011 west to a
point in latitude 30' 057 0011 north;
Thence east along said latitude 30' 051 0011 north to a
point in longitude 94' Olt 0011 west;
Thence south along said ]longitude 94' Olt 00" west to a
point in latitude 30' Olt 0011 north;
Thence west along said latitude 30' Olt 0011 north to a
point in the east line of the J. S. Johnston Survey,
Jefferson County, Texas;

Thence south along the said east line of the J. S.
Johnston Survey, Jefferson County, Texas, to a point
lying in the east boundary line of Highway 347;
Thence north along the said east boundary of Highway
347 to a point lying in the present north line of the
DuPont Chemical Co. property line;
Thence east along the said present north line of the
DuPont Chemical Co. property line to a point in the
west bank of the Neches River;
Thence in a northerly direction along the said west
bank of the Neches River to a point lying in the present
north line of Central Freight Lines, Inc. extended east-
ward;
Thence in a westerly direction along the said present
north line of Central Freight Lines, Inc. and said
line extended to a point lying in the east line of
Highway 347;
Thence in a northwesterly direction along the said east
line of'Highway 347 to a point in the east line of
Highway 69;
Thence in a southeasterly direction along ..the said
east line of Highway 69 to a point in the present south
boundary line of the Stanolind Oil & Gas Co. property;
Thence in a westerly direction along the present south
property line of the Stanolind Oil & Gas Co. property
to a point in the east side of the west Port Arthur
Road;
Thence in a southerly direction along the said east side
of the West Port Arthur Road to a point in latitude 29'
591 00" north;
Thence west along said latitude 29' 591 00't north to a
point in longitude 94' 06t 0011 west;
Thence north along said longitude 94' 06t 0011 west to a
point in the south line of.the said Samuel Stivers League
produced east;
Thence west along the said south line of the Samuel Stiv-
ers League produced to the place of beginning.
II.
That the above described additional territory and area so
annexed shall bea part of The City of Beaumont, and the property so
added therein shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by The
City of Beaumont, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to
all the rights and privileges of all citizens and shall be bound by
the acts, ordinances, resolutions, aid regulations of The City of Beau-
mont

That this ordinance rescinds and nullifies the action taken
by the City Council of The City of Beaumont,earlier on this the 4th
day of November, 1959, in reading for the first time and ordering
published an ordinance annexing to The City of Beaumont a part of the
territory herein described.
IV.
This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner
provided in Article I, Section 4 of the Charter of TheCity of Beau-
mont.
V.
Any and all ordinances of The City of Beaumont in conflict
with any of the provisions of this ordinance are hereby expressly
repealed.
