ING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY,'T BY AMENDING SUBSECTION-(1) OF SECTION 4
AND SUBSECTION (1) OF SECTIONS THEREOF,, SO.AS TO
CHANGE THE BASE -.PAY OF'-ALL'PROBATIONARY OFFICERS AND
ALL PROBATIONARY FIREMEN; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERA-
BILITY.

Section 1.
That an ordinance passed by the City Council.on the 26th

MEN AND FIRE,�IEN', AND ESTABLISHING POSITIONS IN AND
BASE PAY OF EACH CLASSIFICATION; REPEALING ALL CON-
FLICTING ORDINANCES; AND PROVIDING,FOR SEVERABILITY,'t
be amended by amending Subsection (1) of Section •4 -thereof
so that Subsection (1) of Section 4 thereof shall read as follows:
1(1) Grade -'I. There shall be eighty-five (85) posi-
tions in Grade I, said positions to include
Patrolmen and Technicians in Identification
Bureau. The base pay of all officers in this
grade shall be Three Hundred and Seventy ($370.
-00) Dollars- per ' month; - however-, the -base -pay.-
of all probationary officers who have not
served their six (6) months} probationary per-
iod as a member of the Police Department shall
he Three Hundred and Twenty ($320.00) Dollars
per month. at

That an ordinance passed by the City Council on the 26th
day of July, A. D. 1960, and entitled:

be amended by amending Subsection (1)-of-Section 5 thereof so that
Subsection (1) of Section 5 thereof shall read as follows:

and Fifty-five ($355.00) Dollars per month;
however, the base pay of all probationary

Section.3.
The provisions of this ordinance are declared to be sever-
able., and if any section, clause, phrase, word or sentence of this
ordinance.shall for any reason be held.invalid or unconstitutional,'
such decision shall not affect; the validity of,the remaining secs
-tion, clause; phrase, word or.senterine of this ordinance,*but they
shall remain in effects it being the legislative intent that this
ordinance shall stand notwithstanding the invalidity of any part..
