AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PROPER
OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF BEATJMONT TO EXECUTE AND
DELIVER A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED TO SOUTH PARK
LODGE NO. 1320, A.F.& A.M. OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS,
CONVEYING A 2.18 ACRE TRACT OF LAND, MORE OR LESS,
OUT OF THE NORTH ONE HALF OF BLOCK 5, GLADYS CITY
OIL AND GAS MANUFACTURING COMPANY SUBDIVISION IN
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS,
FOR A CASH .CONSIDERATION OF $6,677.00.
WHEREAS, bids were received.by The City of Beaumont on
June 28, 1960, for the sale of a parcel of land owned by The City
of Beaumont located adjacent to the proposed south access road to
Loop 251, 685 feet east of the intersection of Loop 251 and the T.
& N.O. Railroad, and South Park Lodge No. 1320, A.F.& A.M. of Beau-
mont, Texas, submitted a bid in the sum of Six Thousand, Six Hun-
dred -and Seventy -Seven ($6,677.00) Dollars for the purchase of said
property, which was the only bid received; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that it is to
the best interest of the City that the hereinafter described prop-
erty be conveyed to South Park Lodge No. 1320, A.F.& A.M. of Beau-
mont, Texas, for the sum of Six Thousand, Six Hundred and Seventy. -
Seven ($6,677.00) Dollars cash, said property being described as
follows:
Being a part of the John A. Veatch Survey, Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, and being a part of that
certain tract of land conveyed by Charles E. Schroeder
and wife, Billie Rae Schroeder, to The City of Beau-
mont., Texas, by deed dated. March 4, 1957, and re-
corded in Volume 1061, Page 400 in the Deed Records
of Jefferson County, Texas, and being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Subdivision or
Block No. 5 of the Gladys City Oil and Gas Manufactur-
ing Company Subdivision, said point also being the
southwest corner of Subdivision or Block No. 4;
Thence north 620 254 east along the common line of
Subdivisiors or Blocks Nos. 4-and S. five hundred one
-and one tenth (501.1) feet to corner in the south
right-of-way line of Loop 251 Highway;
Thence south 700 55f east..along the said south right-
of -way line of Loop 251 Highway two hundred twenty-
five and eight tenths (225.8) feet to corner in the
northerly line of property owned by John Anges and
wife, Annie Perricone Anges;

Thence south 620 251 west along the said north-
erly line of property owned by John Anges and wife,
Annie Perricone Anges, six hundred fifty -.six (656.0)
feet to corner in the westerly line of said Sub-
division or Block No. 5 or the easterly right. -of -way
line of the Texas and New Orleans Railroad (S.& E.T.
R.R.);
Thence north 271 357 west along the said westerly
line of Subdivision or Block No. 5 or the said
easterly right-of-way line of the Texas and New
Orleans Railroad (S.E &.T.R.R.) one hundred sixty-
four and two tenths (164.2) feet to the place of
beginning.
The above described tract contains 2.18 acres of
land, more or less.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized tLnd directed to
execute and deliver a special warranty deed on behalf of The City
of Beaumont conveying the above described property to South Park
Lodge No. 1320, A.F. & A.M. of Beaumont, Texas, upon receipt of
Six Thousand, Six Hundred and Seventy -Seven ($6,677.00) Dollars
cash; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said
instrument and to affix the seal of The City �of'.'Beaumont thereto.
