AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CLOSING AND ABANDONING
OF THOSE PORTIONS OF LAWRENCE DRIVE, SUNNYDALE LANE,
HOMER DRIVE AND POST OAK LANE THAT ARE SHOWN ON THE
MAP OF UNIT II OF SUBURBAN ACRES AS RECORDED IN VOL.
7, PAGE 193,.JEFFERSON COUNTY MAP RECORDS, WHICH LIE
OUTSIDE THE RIGHT-OF-WAY LINES THEREOF AS DESIGNATED
ON.MAP PREPARED BY GEORGE J. SCHAUMBURG, DATED JANU-
ARY, 1959;_.SUBJECT TO -THE RIGHT.OF THE CITY -OF BEAU-
AMONT TO PLACE -AND MAINTAIN UTILITIES AND TO HAVE
PLACED AND MAINTAINED UTILITIES THEREIN.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owners of all of the prop-
erty described as Lot 1, Block 5, Lot 1, Block 12, Lots 1, 2 and 3,
Block 13, Lot 18, Block 12, Lot 10, Block 10, and'.Lot 14, Block 17
of Unit II, Suburban Acres Addition, has been presented to the City
Council of The City of.Beaumont requesting.,that those portions of Law-
rence Drivel Sunnydale Lane, Homer Drive, and Post Oak Lane that are
shown on the map of Unit II of Suburban Acres as recorded in Vol. 7;
Page 193 of the Jefferson County Map Records, which lie outside of
the right-of-way lines thereof, as designated on the map prepared by
George J. Schaumburg, dated January, 1959, and approved by the City
Planning and Zoning Commission on February 2, 1959, and filed for
record in the Jefferson County Clerk's Office, File No. 517046, be
vacated and abandoned; and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been referred to the City Planning
and Zoning Commission for examination and approval, and the same has
been approved by said Commission; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that it is to the best
interest of The City of Beaumont and benefit to the public that the
above described portions of Lawrence Drive, Sunnydale Lane, Homer
Drive and Post'Oak Lane in Unit II -of Suburban Acres Addition be vacat-
ed and abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, -BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS:
That those portions of Lawrence Drive,- Sunnydale Lane, Homer Drive and
Post Oak Lane that are -shown on the map of Unit II of Suburban Acres

The undersigned, Charles L. Pemberton, is the owner of -io-L
one (1), Block Five (5) in Suburban Acres Unit II, an addition
in the City of Beaur_zont, Jefferson County, Texas. The undersigned,
Robert V. Kerr and wife, Virginia Kerr, arethe owners of Lot One
(1), Block T-welve (12) of said suburban Acres Unit II. The under-
signed, Suburban Acres, Inc., is the owner of Lots One (1), Two (2)
and Three (3), Block Thirteen (13); Lot Eighteen (18), Block Twelve
(12); and Lot Ten (10), Block Ten (10) in said Suburban Acres Unit
II and Lot Fourteen (14) in Block Seventeen (17) in Suburban Acres
Addition Unit III.
We., each of us, respectfully petition the City of Beaumont
to close and abandon those portions of Lawrence Drive, Sunnydale
Lane, Romer Drive and Post Oak -Lane that are shown on the reap of
Unit II of Suburban Acres as recorded in Vol. 7 Page 193 of the
