AN ORDINANCE _AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND
ABANDONING OF AN ALLEY IN. PLAT 1 W" OF THE
DA V ID BROWN SURVEY , _ACCORDING . T 0 THE - C ITY
MIAP . THEREOF OF THE CITY OF . BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the property owners
of the property looted in Lots 1, 2, 12, 13, 6, 9, 10, and 11,
Flat "R" of the David Brown Survey, according to the City Map
thereof of the City o.f. Beaumont,- has been presented to the City,
Commission of the City of Beaumont requesting that the ten -foot
(101) alley extending from Pennsylvania Avenue to -the west line
of said Lot 2, and extending fifty (501) feet southward along
the east line of said Lot No. 11, said alleyway being a portion
of the alley described in partition deed dated May 22, 1911,
between Mrs. Carolina Koenig, Mrs. E..R-. Grant, E. R; Grant,
K,
1. S. Koenig, and,J. W. Koenig, and recorded in Volume 120,
page 520, of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, be
vacated and abandoned;'and.,

V=REAS, said petition has been referred to the City
Planning and -.Zoning Commission for examination and approval
and the same. has been approved by the said Commissions and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been duly canvassed and
examined by the City Commission and has been found. to have been,. -
signed by all the property owners adjacent to said alley, and
it appearing to the City Commission that the request of the
property owners should be granted and that an ordinance should
be enacted vacating and abandoning said alley, -
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COM-
MISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
that said alley located in Plat "R" of the David Brown Survey,
as above described, be'and.the same is hereby authorised to be
vacated and abandoned,, and that the title to such alley shall
revert to and become the property of the ozaners of the property
bordering on said alley as provided by lava.

COMMENT:
The City Flaming and Zoning Commission approved the closing of the alley
in the block bounded by Pennsylvania Ave. W. Buford, Emmett Avenue and
Sabine Pass and the opening of a new alley approximately 50t from the
original one. Will you please prepare the necessary resolution for
approval by the City Commission.
I am attaching 3 copies of the sketch of that block and three copies of
excerpts of the Planning and Zoning Commission minutes of December 15,
one each for your file and 2 each for the Clerk's Office which should
accompany the resolution.
