AUGUST, ET UX TO PURCHASE CERTAIN PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICERS TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER QUITCLAIM DEED TO PURCHASER OF SAME: PREAMBLE WHEREAS, on the 19thday of October A.D., 1945, the City of Beaumont, for itself and as Trustee for the South Park Independent School District, recovered a tax judgment against the Harris County Trust Company, to- gether -with the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the following described property, to -wit: Lot 12, Block 3, in the West Ead Addition City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per map or plat of said Addition of record in the' off ice of the County Clerk, Jefferson County, Texas; and, WHEREAS, on the 5th day of February A.D., 1946, the City of Beaumont, for itself and as Trustee for the South Park Independent School District, purchased said above described property at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and, WHEREAS, on the 14th day of February, A.D., 1946, W. W. Richardson, Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered unto the City of Beaumont, -for itself and as Trustee for the South Park Independent School District, a tax deed to the above described property in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed was recorded in Vol. 611, page 560, of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, on the26th day of March A.D., 1946; and, WHEREAS, on the 24th day of July A.D., 1947, Henry L.. August and wife, Helen August, offered to purchase all of the right, title, inter- est, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont, for itself and as.Trustee for the South Park Independent School District, in the above described property for the sum of Eighty-two and 50/100 ($82.50) Dollars; and, WHEREAS, the City Commission is of the opinion that such sale is for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be consummated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That the aforesaid offer to purchase the above described property is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Beaumont, for itself and as Trustee for the South Park Independent 'School District, a quitclaim deed conveying unto Henry L. August and wife, Helen August, all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont, for itself and as Trustee for the South Park Independent School District, in the above described pro- perty derived by reason of said Sheriff's deed; subject, however, to the right of redemption, as provided by law.
