HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 43-RAN ORDINANCE An Ordinance Accepting Offer of Rebecca and Charlie Single- ton to Purchase Certain Property and Authorizing Proper City Offi- cers to Execute and Deliver Quit claim Deed to Purchaser of Same. Preamble Whereas, on the 7th day of December A.D. , 1945, the City of Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against Phillis Patterson and Jesse Patterson in the stun of Sixty and 33/100 ($60.33) Dollars, to- gether with interest from the date of said judgment and costs and the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the following described property, to-tarit: Lot 3, Block P. Pennock & Potts Addition to the; -City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per map or plat of said Addition of record in the office of the County Clerk, Jefferson County, Texas; and, Whereas., -on the 5th day of March A.D., 1946, the City of Beau- mont purchased said above described property at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and, Whereas, on the 6th day of March A.D., 1946, W. W. Richardson, Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered unto the City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above described property in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed was recorded in Vol. 619, mage 482 of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, on the 13th day of June A.D. , 1946; and, Whereas, on the lst day of March A.D. , 1947, Rebecca and Charlie Singleton offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above descrip- ed property for the sum of Eighty-eight and 37/100 ($88.37) Dollars; and, Whereas, the said Rebecca and Charlie Singleton paid to the City of Beaumont the sum of Eighty-eight and 37/100 ($88.37) Dollars as earnest money in connection with said offer to purchase the above described property; and, Whereas, the City Commission is of the opinion that such sale is for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be con- summated; i.
