An Ordinance Accepting Offer
of David E. O'Fiel to Purchase
Certain Property and Authorizing
Proper City Officers to Execute
and Deliver Quitclaim Deed to
Purchaser of Same.
Preamble
Whereas, on the 5th day of March A.D. , 1945, the City of Beaumont
recovered a tax judgment against Amanda Oglesby and Nancy Washington
if living; if dead, the unknown heirs and legal representatives of
Amanda Oglesby and Nancy Washington, deceased, in the sum of One
Hundred, Fifty-six and 53/100 ($156.53) Dollars, together with interest
from the date of said judgment and costs and the foreclosure of a tax
lien upon the following described property, to -wit:
Lot 12, in Block E, Pennock and Potts Addition
to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas,
as per map or plat of said Addition of record in
the office of the County Clerk, Jefferson County,
Texas; and,
Whereas, on the 6th day of March A.D. , 1945, the City of Beaumont
purchased said above described property at public auction in satisfac-
tion of said judgment and tax lien; and,
Whereas, on the 23rd day of March A.D. , 1945, W. W. Richardson,
Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered unto
the City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above described property in
satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed was recorded
in Vol. 577, page 607 of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas,
on the 4th day of June A.D., 1945; and,
Whereas, on the 28th day of January A.D., 1947, David E. O'Fiel:
offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate
and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above described property for
the sum of One
Hundred;
Eighty
and 04/100 ($180.04)
Dollars;
and,
Whereas,
the said
'David
E. O'Fiel paid to the
City of
Beaumont
the sum of One Hundred, Eighty and 04/100 ($180.04) Dollars as
earnest money in"donnection with said offer to purchase the above
described property; and,
Whereas, the City Commission is of the opinion that such sale
is for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be consummated;
W,113, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BEAWONT:
That the aforesaid offer to purchase the abovedescribed property
is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to execute and celiver on behalf of the City of Beaumont a quitclaim
deed conveying unto David E. O'Fiel all of the right, title, interest,
claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above de-
scribed property derived by reason of said Sheriff's deed,

hereunto duly authorized by Ordinance of the City Commission, a cer-

To have: and to hold the above released right, title, interest,
claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaurnont unto the said David
E. 0IFiel, his heirs and assigns, forever, so that the said City of
Beaur,; ont will have no further right, title,_ interest, claim, Estate or
demand in and to said property by rc._�son of the above referred to Sheriff's
deed.
In testinjony whereof, the City of Beaumont has cdused this instru-
ment 'to. be executed by its Mayor and City Clerk and ,it, seal, to be
