ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AP;'IENDING ARTICLE 2-1 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF BEAUM ONT PROVIDING FOR THE CITY
TO BE DIVIDED INTO THREE (3) WARDS; AND THE LIMITS
AND BOUNDARIES OF EACH WARD; PROVIDING FOR THE RE-
PEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR Pr RTS OF ORDINANCES INCON-
SISTENT OR CON'T'RARY THERETO.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE -CITY COMMISSION
011' THE C ITY OF BEAUMONT :
That Article 2-1 of the Code of the City of Beaumont be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

The first ward shall embrace all the territory lying
within the city limits and North of the following line, to -wit:
Beginning at a point of the Neches River North of
the Texas & New Orleans Railroad where Tevis Street
intersects said river; thence West with the center
line of Tevis ,Street to its intersection with the
centar line of Main Street; thence Northwesterly with
the center line of Main Street to its intersection
with the center line of Liberty Street; thence with
the center line of Liberty Street in a a.Iesterly direc-
tion to its intersection with the center line of
Eleventh Street; thence North to the South line of
the right-of-way of the Beaumont, Sour Lake cue Western
Railroad; thence Westerly with the South line of the
right-of-way of the Beaumont, Sour Lake & Western Rail-
road to the West boundary line of the city.
The second ward shall embrace all the territory within the
city limits lying South of the first ward as above provided and
lying North of the following line, to -wit:
Beginning at a point on the Neches River where the
center line of Milam Street, if extended East, would
intersect said river; thence in a Southwesterly and
Westerly direction along the center line of T4�ilam Street
to its intersection with the center -line of 23rd Street;
thence North along the center line of 23rd Street to its
intersection with the center line of College Street
Extension; thence West with the center line of College
Street Extension to the Western boundary line of the city.
The third ward shall embrace all the territory within the
city lying South of the South boundary line of the second ward
as herein set forth in the preceding paragraph, fixing the
limits of the second ward.

Separability and Savings Clause: If'any section, sub-
section, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this
ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional
by any court of competent, -jurisdiction, such section, sub-
section, sentence, clause, phrase or portion shall be deemed

a separate, distinct and independent provision and
such holdin.1;s shall not effect the validity or con-
stitutionality of the remaining portion thereof.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent
or contrary hereto are hereb�r expressly repealed.
