ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 71-18
OF THE C ODE OF THE CITY OF �BEAUMONT PROVIDING
FOR.PERMIT AND INSPECTION FEES FOR ELECTRICAL
INSTALLATIONS OR ALTERA`1'IONS; PROVIDING A SEPAR-
ABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT
OR CONTRARY THERETO.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C0101 ISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUNONT:;
That Article 71-18 of the Code of the City of Beaumont, be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows;
Section 1
Article 71-18. Amount of fees --Before any permit is
granted for the installation or alteration of electric
wiring, devices or equipment, the person making appli-
cation for such permit shall pay to the city,, a fee in
such amount as specified below;
For service, and up to 10 outlets $3.00
For each additional outlet .10
For installation of lighting fixtures and drop cords,each socket .10
For installation of fluorescent fixtures, each tube .10
Elect-ric range and service, separate installation 1.50
Elect-ic water heater and service, separate installation 1.50
Electric range and electric water heater and service,
installed together 2.50
Temporary Power Service 1.50
Temporary wiring for working lights in building under construction 2.00
Neon signs costing up to $100.002.00
Neon signs costing from $101.00 to $200.00 3.00
Ideon signs costing from J'201.00 to x1500.00 5.00
Neon signs costing from 4;501.00 and over 7.00
For each Mogul socket .10
A stage border light, footlight or strip light.or a metal
trough, raceway, or conduit with sockets or receptacles
attached used for similar purposes, shall be considered a
lighting fixture. For each such socket or receptacle .03
Service for Motors up to 5 HP. 1.00
Ser",nice for Motors from 6 HP to 30 HP 2.00
Service for Motors, all over 30 IIP 3.00
Each outlet for welding machine 2.50
Rectifiers, heating appliances and transformers, per kilowatt .50
All over 5 kilowatts, per kilowatt .10
The rate for each unit shall be considered separately in
figuring fees for motors, rectifiers, heating appliances,
and transformers.
Each pole or anchor 1.00
Underground conduits and cable ducts, each -100 lineal feet_- 1.00
Transmitting or broadcasting stations (including also the
receiving equipment in such stations). The fee.for such
'installations shall be determined on the basis of the
electrical equipment installed but in no case shall such
fee be less than 5.00
Flood lights, each .50
Gasoline Pumps - 1.00
For the inspection of any electrical equipment, appliance or
apparatus for which no fee is herein prescribed, there shall
be charged an hourly inspection fee of 3.00
The minimum fee for any electrical permit shall be 1.00 '
Section 2
Separability and Savings Clause; If any section, sub-
section, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this
ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitu-
tional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such
section, sub -section, sentence, clause, phrase or,
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and in-
dependent provision and such holdings shall not affect
the validity or constitutionality of the remaining
portion thereof.
Section 3
All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent or
contrary hereto are hereby expressly repealed.
