KIBER TO PUS R_A P OPhRT . .-AND AUTHORIZING PROPLR CITY OFFICERS TO EXECUTL AND DELIVER QUIT -CLAIM DEED TO PURCHASER OF PRLt�NiBLE WHEREAS, on the 15th day of June , A.D. 1938 , the City of Beauimont recovered a tax judgment' against A. L. Kiber and wife Mrs. Anna M. Kiber in the sum of Four Thousand Two Hundred Forty and 22/100 Dollars, together with interest from the date of said judgment and costs and the foreclosure of a tax Lien upon the following described property, to -wit: Lots Eleven (11) and Twelve (12) in Block Fourteen (14) Calder Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jeffer- son County, Texas, as per map or plat of said Addi- tion on record in the office of the County Clerk of Jeff erszn County, Texas. and,.. WHEREAS, on the 7th day of March , A• D• 1939 , the City of Beaumont purchased said above des- cribed property at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and -tax lien for the sum of Four Thousand, Four Hundred Thirty-eight and 23/100 ($4,438.23)Dol7_ars; and, WIELREA.S, the said tax- judgment provided that the said A. L. Kiber and wif a Mrs. Anna M. Kiber, or anyone having an interest therein might redeem said property within two (2) years from the date of sale; and, WHEREAS, on the 7th day of March A. D. 19 39, W. W. Richardson, Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered unto the -City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above described propF;rty in satisf,�ictior of said judg- ment and tax lien, which deed ras recorded in Vo1r462 page507 , of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, on the 4th day of April A.D., 19 3� and, V'HLREAS, on the24th day of August , Ar D., 19 46, A. L. Kiber offered to purchase all of the right, title, intE,rest, claim, estate and de-m�and of the Cit-,,- of Beaumont in the above described property -far the: sum of Four Thousand Two Hundred Forty and 22/100 ----------------Dollars; and, WHEREAS, .the said above describedproperty was not redeemed by the said A. L. Kiber and wife &s. Anna M. Kiber or anyone having an interest therein itrithin two years from the date of the filing of said deed in the manner provided by law; and, WHEREAS, the said A. L. Kiber paid to the City of Beaumont the sun of Four Thousand, Two Hundred Forty and 22/100-------($4,240.22)----------Dollars as earnest money in connection with said offer to purchase the above described property; and, is WHEREAS, the City Commission kk of the opinion'that such sale is for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be con summated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That the aforesaid offer to purchase the above described property is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Beaumont a quitclaim deed conveying unto A. L. Kiber all of the right, title, interest, claim,, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above described property derived by reason of said Sheriff's deed.
