AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER
OF PHILLIP BROUSSARD TO PUR-
CHASE CERTAIN PROPERTY AND
AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICERS
TO EXECUTE AND LELIVER (QUITCLAIM
DEED TO PURCHASER OF SAME.
PREAMBLE

Whereas, on the 17th day of November A.D., 1936, the City
of Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against Phillip Broussard in
thesum of One Hundred and 26/100 (;p100.26) Dollars, together with
interest from the date of said judgment and costs and -the foreclo-
sure of a tax lien upon the following described property, to -wit:
Lot Seven (7) in Block "B", of the Pennock
and Potts :addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, as per map or plat
of said Addition of record in the office of
the County Clerk, Jefferson County, Texas; and,
Whereas, on the 2nd day of February A.D., 1937, the City?
of Beaumont purchased said above described property at public auc-
tion in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien for the sum of
One Hundred Sixteen and 27/100 ($116.27) Dollars; and,
Whereas, on the 11th day of March A.D., 1937, W. W. R ich-
ardson, Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and deliv-
ered unto the City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above described
property in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed
was recorded in Vol. 427, page 566 of the Deed Records of Jefferson
County, Texas, on the 19th day of March A.D., 1937; and,
Whereas, on the 14th day of October A.D., 19469 Phillip
Broussard offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest,
claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above describ-
ed property for the sum of T hree Hundred Nineteen and 02/100 Dollars;
and,
Whereas, the said Phillip Broussard paid to the City of
Beaumont the sum of Three Hundred Nineteen and 02/100 0319.02) Dol-
lars as earnest money in connection with said offer to purchase the
above described property; and,
Whereas, the City Commission is of the opinion that such
sale is for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be
consummated;
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the City Commission of
the City of Beaumont that the aforesaid offer to purchase the above
described property is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of
Beaumont a quitclaim deed conveying unto Phillip Broussard all of the
right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont
in the above described property derived by reason of said Sheriff's
deed®

Pest Interest of the City of Beaumont
and should be consummatted•
Nowtherefore, be it ordained by
the City Commission of the City of
Beaumont that the aforesaid offer to
burchase the above described property

.City Clerk are hereby authorized to
'xecute,'and deliver. on behalf of the
City of Beaumont a. Quitclaim deed
conveying unto Phillip : Broussard all
of the right, title, interest, claim, es -1
