AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER
OF JERRY ARLINE TO.PURCHASE
CERTAIN PROPERTY.AND AUTHORIZ-
ING. PROPER CITY OFFICERS TO
EXECUTE AND DELIVER. QUITCLAIM
DEED TO PURCHASER OF SAME,;
PREAMBLE
WHEREAS-, on the 8th day of ' November, A.
of Beaumont reeovered'a tax judgment against
Gertrude Henry and Will Henry in the sum of
eight and 40/100 ($178.40) Dollars, together
the date of said judgment and costs and the
lien upon the following described properAy,
D.,1935, -the City
Jerry Arline,
One Hundred,Seventy-
with interest from
foreclosure of a tax
to -wit:
Being Lot One (1)9 Block Three -(3), of
the -Clay Morris Addition to the City of
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, -as per
map or plat of said Addition of record
in the office of the County Clerk of
Jefferson County, ---Texas, and deeds of
record. in Vol. 236, page 136 and Vol.
212, -page 17 of the deed records in -
office of said County Clerk, and;
- WHEREAS, on the -4th day -of February, A. D.,19360 the City_
of Beaumont purchased said above-described property at public
auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, and;
WHEREAS, on the 11th day of February, A. -D., 19361
W. W.
Richardson, Sheriff of Jefferson -County, Texas, made, executed
and delivered unto the City of Beaumont a tax deed to the
above described property in satisfaction of'said judgment and
tax -lien. -which deed was recorded in Vol. 413 page 398, of the
Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, on the 21st day of
March, A. D., 1936, and,
WHEREAS, on the 7th day of December, A. D., 1946,Jerry
Arline offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest,
claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above
described property for the sum of Three Hundred, Thirty-three
and 03/100 (4333.05) Dollars; and,
WHEREAS, the said Jerry Arline paid to to'City of Beaumont
the sum of Three Hundred, Thirty-three and 03/100 ($333.03)
Dollars as earnest money in connection with said offer to pur-
chase the -above de -ser -4 -bed- property;- and,_
WHEREAS, the City -Commission is of the opinion that such
sale is for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and
should be consummated;

Nov, therefore, be it ordained by the City Commission
of the City of Beaumont, that the aforesaid offer to purchase
the above described property is hereby accepted and the Mayor
and City Clerk ar e'hereby authorized to execute and deliver an
behalf of the City of Beaumont a quitclaim deed conveying unto
Jerry ,Arline all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate
and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above described
property derived by reason of said Sheriff's deed.

That the City of Beaumont, a municipal corporation,
of__ Jefferson County,. Texas, acting herein by and through its
Wayor :and City Clerk, hereunto duly authorized by Ordinance of
the vity Commission, a certified copy of which Ordinance is
attached hereto and marked "Exhibit A'", for and, in considera-
tion of the sum of Three Hundred, Thirty-three • and 03/100
(;;;333.03) Dollars cash in hand paid to the City of Beeutrion t. by
Jerry Arline the receipt of .yvhich is hereby acknowledged and
,confessed, has quitclaimed and by these presents does quitclaim.
unto the said Jerry Arline all of the right, title, interest,
claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in and to the
following described property, to -wit:
"Being Lot One (1), B1oc.k Three (3), of the Clay
UPorris Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jeffer-
son County, , Texas as per map or plat of said
Addition of record in the office of the County
Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas,.. and deeds of-
record

County, Clerk; and further reference is .here made
to the deed to said property frog Jerry Arline
by.Sheriff to the City of Beaumont,. recorded in

with all and singular the right, title, interest, claim, estate
-and demand of the City of Beaumont in and to the hereditaments
and appurtenances thereto belonging or in anywise pertaining.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above released right, title,,
interest, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont unto
the said Jerry Arline his heirs and assigns, forever, so that the
City of Beaumont will have no further _r4ght, title, interest,,. -claim,
•estate or demand in and to said property by reason of the above
referred to Sheriff's deed.

WHEREAS; 'on the 8th day of Nov-
ember, A. D., 1935, the City of Beau-
mont recovered a tax Judgment against
Jerry Arline, Gertrude Henry and Will
Henry' Sn the sum of One hundred,
Seventy-eight. and 40/100($178.40) Dol-
lars, together• with interest from the
date of said Judgment and cost„ and
the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the
following described property, to -wit:

WHEREAS, the said Jerry Arline paid
to the City of Beaumont the sum of

($333.03) Dollars as -earnest money in
connection, with. said offer to purchase
the above described property; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission is
of the opinion that such sale is for the
best interest of the City.of Beaumont
aDd. should be consummated;'
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the
City Commission of the City, of,Beau-
mont, that the aforesaid offer "to pur-
chase the above described propert7, is
hereby accepted and the Mayor and City
Clerk are hereby authorized to execute
and deliver on behalf of the City of
