AN ORDiINA NCE :
Amending Article 826 of the R evised Code
of Ordinances adopted by the -City Council April 9th,
1915, and recorded on page 320, Volume 3, Minutes of
the Ordinances of the City of Beaumont, providing traffic
rules and regulation by adding thereto and including
therein the .following hereinafter designated boundaries;
providing a penalty for the violation thereof, and
de cla n Bing ,zan eme r gen cy .
BE IT ORDAINED BY '777, CITY COUNCIL OF TIS CITY OF BEAI7IJIONT:
SECTION I.
That Article 826 of the Revised. Code of Ordinances
of the City of Beaumont as amended by an ordinance adopted
April 6th, 1915, and recorded on page 320 Volume 3, 11inutes
of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont, Texas, be and the same
is hereby amended by having the following Section known.
as"Section 826 B" added thereto as follows, to --wit:
T,SECTION 826 B.
It shall be unlawful for any person, in c h arge
of any vehicle or domestic animal used for hire, to allow
said vehicle or animal to remain standing on Orleans
Street between Crockett and. Bowie Street in the City of
Beaumont , Texas.
SECTION I I .
Any person who violates the provisions of this Ordi-
nance shall be guilty, of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof in the Corporation Court, shall be fined as .provided
In Section 11826 All of the Revised Ordinances of the City of
Beaumont recorded in. Volume 3 page 371 of the Minutes of
the Ordinances of the City of Beaumont.
SECTION III.
The fact that the present traffic ordinances permit
vehicles used for hire to stop on Orleans Street between
Crockett and Bowie Streets, and that such use of said street
by vehicles for hire has created a congestion of traffic
and an imperative public necessity and emergency exists,
necessitating the adoption of this -'or dinance/ und-er 4L

Gentlemen;
Beaumont, Texas.
The Undersigned merchants doing a whole. -
sale and retail business on Orleans Street, between
Croeket and Bogie Streets, respectfully petition you,
to so change the existing trafic ordances, covering
this portion of Orleans Street, so as to prohibit
wagons, automobiles, and hacks, used for hire, from
stopping on this street, and around the Southern
Pacific Park, except to load and unload. Also to
allow private conveyances not used for hire to remain.
