AN ORDINANCE
Repealing"An ordinance authorizing the issuance of
bonds for the purpose of xepairing colored school house
rr3 in the City of Beaumont and. providing for the levy-
ing and collection of a tax to pay the interest and
create a sinking fund for the redemption of said bond.s,"
adopted by the City Council of the City of Beaumont,
Texas on the 21st day of October, A.D.1913, and xecorded
on page 253, Vol.3 Kinutes of Ordinances of the City of
Beaumont, and repealing so much of "An Ordinance entitled
and Ordinance apportioning a tax of fi fty-two (. 52 )
cents on each One Hundred 0100.00) Dollars valuation of
all taxable property within the City of Beaumontill etc.
adopted by the City Council on.the 21st day of October,
A.D.1913 and recorded. on pages 251-252 V01.3, Minutes
of Ordinances of the City of .Beaumont, as was levied-
to
eviedto create an interest and sinking fund. for the redemption
of school house repair bonds No.6; txansferring the money
heretofore collected from School Nouse Repair Bond fund
No -6 to available school house funds;and declaring an
emerge ncy.
Whereas the City Council of the City of Beaumont by
ordinance adopted October 21st, 1913, authar_zAd._
issuance of

Dollars, dated October lst, 19139 due and payable one ye ax
from date bearing interest at the rate of five (5%) per
cent pax annum, and providing by ordina ?ce adopted on
the same date f or the levy and colle ction of One ( .01)
cent on each One Hundred (100.00) Dollars vEluation of
all taxable pxoperty in the City of Beaumont fox the
payment of interest and creation of a sinking fund, and
Whereas the record of .said bonds was pxepared and sent
to the Attorney General of Texas but was mislaid by him
and_ never passed -upon, and .
Whereas since the authority to issue said. bonds was
granted- enough money has been collected. in the tax levy to

pay the indebtedne ss for, which said bonds wsxe is sue d and
no further necessity exitts to use said 'bonds or to have
same printed or lithograiDhed.., Now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY TLE CITY COUNCIL OF TF_,' CITY OF BFAUMONT
Section 1.
That an Ordinance entitled "An ordinance authorizing
the issuance of bonds for the pnrpo se of repairing a_.bui ld-
ing or structure for the building of which 'bonds are
allowed to be issued to -wit:- ' The repairing of the colored.
public school house located in the second ward, of the City
of Beaumont and known as the colored school house No -3,
and providing for the levy and collection of a tax to
pay the interest and create a sinking, fund for the redemption
of said. bonds at maturity," Whi ch was adopted by the. City
Council October 21st, 1913 and is re cor aed on page 253,
Vol.3 Minutes of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont, be
and the same is hereby cancelled, annulled and he ld for
na ugh t .
Section 2.
That so much of an ordinance entitled-." An Ordinance
entitled an ordinance apprtioning a tax of fifty-two
(.52). cents on each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars
valuation of 'all taxable pr operty within the 1 imits of
the city of Beaumont, etc." adopted by the City Council
of the City of Beaumont on October 21e,t, 1913, and recorded
on pages 251-252 Vrjl.3 Liinutes of Ordinances of lae City
of Beaumont,as relates to the following apporti'cnment,to-wit,:-
"To the interest and. si nkin- fund: of School House Repair
Bonds No.6, dated. October 21st, 1913, One cent ( .Ol)"Be and
the same is hereby cancelled, annullkcl and held for naught.
Section 3.
That the" 1 evy of the . said oiae ( :01) cent to be collected,
for the interest and sinking fund of, school house Repair

Bond No-6-shall be .l,eviad and collected'�or the interest
and sinking fund of the other outstanding bonds as the
City Couneil'of the City 'of Beaumont may deem fit.
S'e cti on 4.
That -the sum of "One Thousand, Nine Hundred and. Fourteen

and 98%00" ($1914.98,) Doilars.now collected and in School
Hovae Repair "Bond Fuilad.No. 6. be" and the same is hereby,
transferred to available school house funds.
Section 5.
That the • Treasurer and City Secretary:are hereby ..
authorized.and instructed t,o make the_ proper,entries to
carry into..effact this ordinance. .

Section 6.
A necessity exists fo,r . the transfer of these .funds
so as to properly care for,;. the indebtedness created in
the repair of said school h-ouses and a further necessity
exists. that the ordinance making- th e, le vy f or 'the int:ere st
and sinking fund - of said school house bonds be repealed
owing to the fact, that more than sufficient 'money has be en
.collected to meet'the inde�b,tednes,..for which said bonds
were issued. Therefore an "emergency and imperative public
necessity exists ne:cessi tating the suspension of the rule
requiring. ordinances 'to be read at three regular meetings.
Said rule :is hereby sus pended and this ordinance shh.11 go
into full gorce 'arid. effect; from and. after its "lawful
passage . •
