ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS, AND IN PARTICULAR THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE ZONING DISTRICTS AS IN-
DICATED UPON THE ZONING MAP OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT', TEXAS, BY
CHANGING A 22.0 ACRE TRACT OF LAND IN THE
BEAUMONT IMPROVEMENT COMPANY SUBDIVISION,
BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED, PRESENTLY ZONED
"R-111, TO "R -2M"; PROVIDING FOR SEVER-
ABILITY AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
THAT Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Beaumont, Texas, and in particular the boundaries of the zoning
districts as indicated upon the Zoning Map of the City of Beaumont,
referred to in Section 42-9 thereof, is hereby amended by changing
the zoning classification of the following described tract of land,
presently zoned "R-1", Single Family Dwelling District, to "R -2M",
Medium Density Multiple Dwelling District, to wit:
Tract 1.
Being all of tract or Block Nos. Four (4),
Nine (9) and the West 67.9 feet of tract
or Block No. Sixteen (16) of the Beaumont.
Improvement Company Subdivision out of the
West one-half (1/2) of the H.R. Williams
one-fourth (1/4) League, Abstract 58,
Jefferson County, Texas, according to the
map or plat of said addition of record in
Volume 2, Page 5 of the Map Records of
Jefferson County, Texas, more particularly
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the West line of
Block Four (4) and the Northeasterly line
of the G.B. & K.C.; Railroad Company right-
of-way;

THENCE North, along the west line of said
Block Four (4) a distance of 238 feet to
the Northwest corner of Block Four (4) in
the South line of Maida Street;
THENCE East, along the south line of Maida
Street a distance of 832.7 feet to a point
for corner;

THENCE South, and parallel with the East
line of Block cline (9) , a distance of
561.5 feet to a point in the South line
of Block Sixteen (16);
THENCE West, along the South line of
Block Sixteen (16), Nine (9) and Four
(4), a distance of 629.8 feet, more or
less., to the Northwesterly line of the
said G. B. & K. C. Railroad Company right -
of -way;
ightof-way;
THENCE Northwesterly, along said railroad
right-of-way to the place of BEGINNING.
Tract 2.
Being all of Lot Nos, One (1) through
Nine (9), inclusive, in Block No. One (1)
and Lot Nos. One (1) through Nine (9),
inclusive, in Block No. Two (2), of the,.
ANNIE ADDITION to the City of Beaumont
Jefferson County, Texas, according to the
map or plat of said addition of record in
Volume 9,.Page 104, of the Map Records of
Jefferson County, Texas; said ANNIE AD-
DITION being a re -subdivision of Tract or
Block No. Ten (10) of the Beaumont Tsnprove-
ment Company Subdivision of the West one-
half (1/2) of the H. R. Williams one -Fourth
(1/4) League, Abstract No. 58, according to
the map ;or plat of said addition in Volume
2, Page;5, of the Map Records of Jefferson
County,;Texas; the said Block Ten (10)
being more particularly described by metes
and bounds as follows:
Commencing at a point at the intersection
of the North line of Maida Street and the
West line of Barrett Street, being the
Southeast Corner of Block twenty-two (22)
of saidlBeaumont Improvement Company Sub-
division;
THENCE West,.along the North lin& of said
Maida Street a- distance of 775.8 feet,
more or.less to the place of beginning;
THENCE continuing West along the North line
of Maida Street a distance of :387.9 feet to
the Southwest corner of said Block Ten (10);

THENCE North, along the West line of Block
Ten (10) and the East line of Block-Three-

lock Three(3) a distance of 561.5 feet to the Northwest
corner of said Block Ten (10);
THENCE East, along the North line of said
Block Ten (10) a distance of 387.9 feet to
the Northeast corner of said Block Ten (10);
THENCE South, along the East line of Block
Ten (10) and the West line of Block Fifteen (15)
a distance of 561.5 feet to the place of BEGINNING,

and the official Zoning Map.of the City of Beaumont is hereby amended
to reflect such changes.
Section 2.
That in all other respects the use of the property herein
above described shall be subject to all the applicable regulations
contained in Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas,
dated August 19, 1958, as amended.
Section 3.
That the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be
deemed to be severable, and that if the validity of the zoning affecting
any portion of the property described hereinabove shall be declared to
be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the zoning of the
balance of the property described herein.
Section A .
That any person or corporation violating any of the terms
and provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to the same penalties
provided for in said Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,
Texas.
