AN ORDITJANCE . a
Forbidding children under ( yeard of age from
on the streets of Beaumont from nine 01clock
p. until six (6) o'clock A.M. unless accompanied by ,
parento other adult person or unless sent on the street
by parent .of guardian, providing penalty
BE IT ORDAIRED BY THE CITY COTTYCIL OF THE OTTY 'OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1. That from and after the paasage of this or-. -
dinance it
s ` 1,� be unlawful for any child under the age
of f n 3c - years to be and remain upon `any of the
streets of Beaumont between the hours of lxm o ' olock P.M.
and six (6) o'clock A.M. unless such child shall be accom-
panied by its parent or guardian or some other adult person,
and unless such.child shall be so sent on the streets by
said o y Arent or guardian C?' any other pers..on charged with its

Section Z. Any person violating the provisions of th6s
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
trial and conviction thereof before the recorder shall be
fined in any sum not exc.e-eding ten dollars ($10.00).

Gentlemen:
We, your Ordinance Committee, most respect-
fully present for your consideration the ordinance
hereto attached which provides what is commonly
called a curfew law intended to prevent children
from being and remaining on the streets of the City
of Beaumont at night after certain hours and we
respectfully recommend the passage of the ordinance.
