OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, PROVIDING A RULF FOR PARKING
AUTOMOBILES AND OTHER VEHICL?'8 01 THE STREETS OF
BEAUT?OPTT, AND DECLARING Ali EVERGENCY.
Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Beau-
mont, Texas.. '
Section 1. That from and after the passage,
approval and publication of this Ordinance, Article 815
of the Revised Code of Ordinances of the City of Beau--
Dzont.shall read as follows: ARTICLE 815• Unless
in an emergency, or to allow another vehicle or pedestrian
to cross the street, no automobile, or other vehicle,
shall stand or stop in any public street, in Beaumont,
except close to the curb line) and not over twelve inches
(1511) therefrom, with the vehicle parallel with the curbing.
Provided that on the Streets included within the
following boundaries all automobiles shall be parked
so as to stand at an angle of forty-five (45) degrees
with the curbing and with the right front wheel of
said vehicle next'to and touching the curb. -
Beginning at the intersection of the West line of park
Street and the South line of College Street; Thence in
an Easterly direction rnith the South line of College
Street to its intersection with the East line of Main
Street-; Thence in a Northerly direction with the East

line of Main Street to its intersection.

with the West line of Magnolia Street; Thence in a
Southerly direction with the West line of 1.2agnolia Street
to its intersection with the South line of Laurel Avenue;
Thence in•an Easterly direction with the South line, of
Laurel Avenue to its intersection with the nest line
of Orleans Street; Thence in a Southerly direction with
the West line of Orleans Street to its intersection with
F the North line of Crockett Street;. Thence in an Westerly
direction with the North line of Crockett Street to its
intersection with the East line of Jefferson'Street; Thence in a

Southerly direction with the East 11ne of Jefferson �
Street to its intersection'with the South line of 4;
Crockett Street; Thence in an Easterly direction with
the South line of Crockett Street to its intersection
with the gest line of Park Street; Thence in a Southerly
direction with the best line of Park Street to its
intersection with the South line of College Street, the `..
place of beginning.
Provided that on all streets within the fore- �
going boundaries where there is a railroad track, or
a street railway track, or an interruban track,
automobiles and other vehicles shall park parallel
with the curbing and where there are no such tracks
. automobiles shall perk at an angle of forty-five (45)
degrees, as herein stated.
Provided further that all vehicles drawn by. \ ' j .
horses or other animals shall stop with the right side
of the vehicle next to the curving and parallel with
the same, and not more than twelve inches (1211)
therefrom, and
P-rovided further that.--on--Bowl-e-- St r -e at,—be twe en
Orleans and Main, where there is a railroad track, the),
parking of automobiles.shall be at an angle of forty -
live (45) degrees, and on Laurel Street, between
Orleans and Alamo, where there are no such tracks,
the parking shall be parallel with the curb�OvV\jK
Provided on such streets where the parking of
automobiles is to be at an an -'al of forty-five .(45)
degrees that the City Engineer shall mark same with
white paint, or otherwise, in some suitable manner
as the City council shall from time to time direct,
-and =also that --the City -Engineer _shall_ place in the
middle of the inter'Gecti ons of all streets within
the boundaries above set out, white stone, not less
than twelve inches (1211) square, for. the guidance
of all persons driving autopiobiles, or other vehicles,
and fixing a ps)int to the right of which all vehicles
must be driven.
Section 2. The fact that traffic conditions in
the boundaries on the streets above set out are so
coTsted th=wt it is. -absolutely necessary to give
some relief from suchco est,f/conditions an
imperative public necess y exists, requiring the
suspension of the rule that Ordinances must be read—
on three (3) separate days and said rule is hereby
suspended, and this Ordinance shall go into effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication.
