ORDINANCE NO:
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A POR-
TION OF MONTROSE STREET LOCATED BETWEEN WASHINGTON
BOULEVARD AND PEVEITOT ROAD, IN THE AMELIA HEIGHTS
2ND ADDITION TO THE.CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON
COUNTY; TEXAS, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN.
WHEREAS, Mr. Otto St. John, being the only abutting property owner of
the portion of Montrose Street located between Washington Boulevard and Peveitot
Road, as more particularly described herein, has requested that said portion of
Montrose.Street be vacated and abandoned; and,.
WHEREAS, said request has been referred to the Planning and Zoning Can
mission of the -City of Beaumont for examination and -approval,, and the same has
been approved by said Commission; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that it is to the best interest
of the City of Beaumont and benefit to the public that the hereinafter -described
portion of Montrose Street be vacated and abandoned; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the following -described portion of Montrose Street.in the,City of Beaumont,.
Texas, be and the same is hereby, vacated and abandoned and that title to said
portion of said vacated and abandoned street shall revert to and become the pro-
perty of the person entitled thereto, as provided by law;. said portion being de—
scribed as follows:
BEING a portion of Montrose Street lying
between Peveitot Road on the South and
Washington Boulevard on the North;'the
dimensions of said portion of Montrose
Street being sixty feet by one thousand
seventy-four feet (60-'X 1,0741) . .
