ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND
ALLOWING VESTING OF CERTAIN RIGHTS, AND FOR
RETIREMENT UNDER TEXAS MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT
SYSTEM OF EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
WHO HAVE ATTAINED FIFTY (50) YEARS OF AGE
AND HAVE COMPLETED 'Itnl=-FIVE (25) YEARS
OF CREDITABLE SERVICE WITH SAID CITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMCNT:
Effective on the 14th day of December, 1976, any employee of
the City of Beaumont who has attained the age of fifty (50) years, and
who as an employee of this City has completed twenty-five (25) or more
years of creditable service for which he is entitled to credit in the
Texas Municipal Retirement System, and who has been a member of the System
for one year of more, shall be eligible for service retirement as provided
in subsection 1(b), Section VII of Article 6243h, Vernon's Texas Civil
Statutes, as amended. Any such employee who shall have ccopleted twenty (20)
years or more of creditable service as an employee of said City shall continue
as a member of Texas Municipal Retirement System despite subsequent absence
from service for a period in excess of sixty (60)'months, provided he does
not withdrawhis deposits during such absence, and shall be eligible to re-
tirement upon and after attainment of the minimum. age prescribed by the Act
above mentioned.
