ORDINANCE NO. '`
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION
12-20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS BY SETTING THE
RATE OF'PAY IN ALL GRADES IN THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES AND PROVIDING FOR SEVER=
ABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the rates of pay as established in Section
12-20(1)-(6) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont,
Texas, be, and the same are hereby, amended as follows:
(1) Grade I. The base pay of every firefighter
with less than six (6) months' service shall
be Eight Hundred Fifty Four and No/100 ($854.00)
Dollars; the base pay of every firefighter
in this grade with more than six (6) months'
service but not more than eighteen ' (18 )- months'
service shall be Eight Hundred Ninety Eight
and No/100 ($898.00) Dollars per month; and
the base pay of every firefighter in this
grade with more than eighteen (18) months'
service shall be Nine Hundred Forty Two and
No/100 ($942.00) Dollars per month.
(2) Grade II. The base pay of every fire-
fighter in this grade shall be One Thousand
Thirty Eight and No/100 ($.1,038.00) per month..
(3) Grade III. The base pay of every fire-
fighter in this grade shall be One Thousand
One Hundred Forty Six and No/100 ($1,146.00)
Dollars per month.
(4) Grade IV. The base pay of every fire-
fighter in this grade shall be One Thousand
Two Hundred Sixty Three and No/100 ($1,263.00)
Dollars per month.
(5) Grade V. The base pay of every fire-
fighter in this grade shall be One Thousand

Three Hundred Ninety Three and No/100
($1,393.00) Dollars per month.
(6). Grade VI. The base pay of every fire-
fighter in this grade shall be One Thousand
Six Hundred Eleven and No/100 ($1,611.00)
Dollars.per month.
Section 2.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to
the extent of such conflict.
Section 3.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a par-
ticular set of persons or circumstances shall, for any reason,
be found to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect
the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the
various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared
to be severable.
