OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TE-
XAS, AND IN PARTICULAR THE BOUNDARIES OF
THE ZONING DISTIRCTS AS INDICATED UPON THE
ZONING MAP OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
BEAUMONT,. TEXAS, BY CHANGING A 22 ACRE
TRACT OF LAND DESCRIBED AS A PORTION OF
BLOCK 11 OUT OF THE WEST ONE-HALF OF THE
H. WILLIAMS SURVEY, ABSTRACT 56, LOCATED
AT 6500 GLADYS STREET, BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON
COUNTY, TEXAS, AS HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED,
PRESENTLY ZONED "R-lA" TO -"R-1"; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas,
and in particular the boundaries of the zoning districts as indicated
upon the Zoning Map of The City of Beaumont, referred to in Section
42-9 thereof, -is hereby amended by changing the zoning classification
of the following described tract of land, presently zoned "R-lA", Sin-
gle Family Residential, to "R-1", Single -Family Dwelling District, to
wit:
BEING�a 22 acre tract more or less out of
Block 11 of the subdivision of the west
one-half_ of the H. Williams Survey, Ab-
stract 56, Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas.
BEGINNING at the northwest corner of Rogers
Park and the northeast corner of the herein
described tract, said corner being in the
north line of Block 11 of the subdivision
of the west one half_ of the H. Williams Sur-
vey;
THENCE with the west line of Rogers Park and
the east line of the herein described. tract,
South zero degrees forty-three minutes thirty
seconds East (S 0-0° 43' 30" E) for a distance
of six hundred sixty-eight and forty-nine hun-
dredths feet (668.491) to a point for corner
in the'north line of Gladvs Avenue (formerly
Hall Road) for the southeast corner of the
herein described tract and the southwest cor-
ner of Rogers Park;
THENCE with the south line of the herein de-
scribed tract and the north line of Gladys
Avenue, South eighty-nine degrees fifteen min-
utes thirty seconds West (S 891 15' 30-" W) for
a distance of one thousand five hundred and
fifty-one hundredths feet (150-0.5l') to a

point for the southwest corner of the here-
in described tract;
THENCE north with the west line for a dis-
tance of six hundred fifty-five feet (655')
more or less to the north line of Block 11
of the subdivision of the west one half of
the H. Williams Survey;
THENCE eastward with the north line of Block
11 and the north line of the herein described
tract for a distance of one thousand four hun-
dred ninety-nine and twenty-four hundredths
feet (1499.24') to the PLACE OF BEGINNING;
CONTAINING IN AREA 22 acres of land, more or
less,
and the official Zoning Map of The City of Beaumont is hereby amended
to reflect such changes.
Section 2.
That in all other respects the use of the property herein-
above described shall be subject to all of the applicable regulations
contained in Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas,
adopted Augsut 19, 1958, as amended.
Section 3.
That the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be
deemed to be severable, and that if the validity of the zoning affect-
ing any portion of the property described hereinabove shall be de-
clared to be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the
zoning of the balance of the property described herein.
Section '4.
That any person or corporation violating any of the terms and
provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to the same penalties:.
provided for in said Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,
Texas.
