ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A JOINT
AIRPORT ZONING BOARD IN CONJUNCTION WITH
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS; APPOINT TWO MEMBERS
AS THE CITY'S APPOINTEES; PROVIDING DUTIES;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR
REPEAL.
WHEREAS, because the Beaumont Municipal Airport is located outside
the city limits of the City of Beaumont, the City of Beaumont desires to
join with Jefferson County in establishing a Joint Airport Zoning Board to
regulate the heights of structures within the hazard area surrounding said
municipal airport in accordance with the statutes of the State of Texas;
NOW, TBERREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
There is hereby established a Joint Airport Zoning Board to be
composed of two (2) persons appointed by the City of Beaumont, Texas, two
(2) persons appointed by Jefferson County, Texas and a Chairman chosen by
the four (4) members so appointed. Said Joint Airport Zoning Board shall
be empowered to enact, administer and enforce airport zoning regulations
applicable to the hazard areas surrounding the Beaumont Municipal Airport.
Mr. Gene Darst
and Mr. Stirling Copp
are hereby appointed to said Joint Airport Zoning Board by the City of
Beaumont to serve two (2) year terms. Said members shall serve until their
successors are duly appointed. Members shall be removable by the appointed
authority for cause. Members shall serve without compensation.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or
circumstances, should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity
shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such
end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.

Section 3.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
