An ordinance prohibiting the Texarkana & Fort Smith
Railway Company, the Beaumont, Sour bake & Western Railway
Company and the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe Railway Company and
all agents, servants and employes of said Railway Companies
and also all other Railroad Companies, their agents, servants
and employes from switching engines and cars across College
Street within the city limits of the City of Beaumont at the
intersection of said College Street with Railroad Avenue for
the purpose of making up, breaking up or re -arranging cars
in trains and from switching for the purpose of distributing,
placing or replacing cars on tracks in the yards of the.Texarkana.
& Ft. Smith Railway Company and other tracks adjacent thereto.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of
Beaumont.
From and after the passage of this act it shall be un-
lawful for the Texarkana & Ft. Smith Railway, the Beaumont ,
A
Sour bake & Western Rly. Co., the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe Rly.
Co. , and all other Railway Compahies engaged in operating grains
within the city limits of the City of Beawlior_t , their agents,
employes and servants engaged in operating said trains to switch,
operate for the purpose of distributing oars any engines or cars
across College Street at the intersection of that Street with
Railroad Avenue in the City of Beaumont for the purpose of mak-
ing up, breaking up or re -arranging cars in any trains, or for
the purpose of distributing, placing or replacing cars on any
track or tracks in the yards of the Texarkana & Fort Smith Rly.
Co., or upon anyother track or tracks adjacent thereto.

SECTION 2
Any Railroad Company who may violate Section 1 of
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction thereof in the Corporation Court of the City
of. 'Beaurnont- shall be fined not less than Twenty Five nor- more
than .One hundred Dollars for each offense. And each and every
day` -,,aid•ordinance is violated shall constitute a separate
.offen'se for which ccnviction may be had.
Section 3
Any Agent, Servant or Employe of any Railroad Company
or assisting to operate1-en��t�l
who may be engaged in ope rat ingrthe train or trains t the time of"
sa.id-'switching hereinbefore prohibited shall also be deemed
guilty of: a. misdemeanor and upon conviction in the Corporation
Court of .said city shall be fined in any sum not exceeding
Twenty Five Dollars and each day shaff constitute a separate
offense, for which a separate conviction may be had This
conviction may be had in addition to that provided for in Section
2 of this ordinance upon proof that said agent, employe or
servant was assisting in the operation of the train and thereby
violated Section 1 hereof
Section 4
The above Ordinance is not intended to suspend
or repeal any ordinance regulating the switching of engines
----- —and- ears or the making up of trai-nsin the City of Bea.imont,
but is expressly intended to prohibit the switching of cars and
engines and trains back and forth across College Street at the
intersection of Railroad Avenue as expressed in said ordinance
